MGB: Augie DeBiase talks about his plans
Travis replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Meh. I am not sure he will ever do much at the next level. -
Mac couldn't keep anyone from that first class. If SL does that, then it is easy to say he created a better class.

I knew those florida ties would pay off.

Seth Litrell's new DL coach Derrick Leblanc

They better have a bunch of ties. -
This is similar to the question I raised in the initial thread. I would think this is SL area to handle more than it is RV.

MGB breaking news -- UNT lands high school QB
Travis replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I bet more schools give him a look now that he has been offered by us. He has done some good things in high school and went fairly unnoticed. Reminds me of Johnny Quinn who also did great things in high school but couldn't get much interest. Let's hope he ends up creating a similar legacy here. I can understand everyone's concern when we don't see too much interest. But I bet our two offensive geniuses see something in this guy. I will trust them until otherwise. -

Seahawks had to get permission. They got in trouble when they first did it without consent. Now. The Seahawks pay for it, I believe. -
Somehow the news disagrees. My police friends and firefighter friends would equally disagree.

Nothing good ever happens after 2:00 am

This is disappointing. My immediate reaction is always alcohol or some other substance is involved.

Did Mac ever make in home visits? I never heard of any...

If they counted the transfers it may be a different story. But, I believe he is going to do some good things with the new energy.

How Much Is the UNT Football Team Worth?
Travis replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
That way you can have a championship game out of it. -
Big 12 Championship Proposal before NCAA today
Travis replied to ChristopherRyanWilkes's topic in Mean Green Football
I would let them do it with 10 only because I don't want CUSA to get raided by the AAC. Houston would be the first to go. Which means Rice would easily slide into their place. We would likely take Texas State in their place but I would rather keep Rice. And if Memphis or Cincinatti goes, I could easily see Marshall, WKY or USM go to AAC. I don't want to see either of them go and be replaced by other Sun Belt programs. So I say give them their 10 so we can avoid movement. -
MGB: Report says C-USA TV revenue will fall by about half
Travis replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Perhaps less FBS start ups. There were a few much better programs such as Arkansas State and La-La that I would have added before F_U's or Charlotte and company. -

I was saying before that going with schools in TV markets doesn't help us or the conference. I stand correct! -
MGB: D'Audrey Bradley says he intends to remain at UNT
Travis replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
no one else wanted him? serious question. -
We all know that the Big 12 is better than CUSA. My only point is that I am not so sure we will see the current Tech coach in there longer than a year, maybe two. They aren't a serious contender, they were sandwiched between and oft' poor West Virginia (who did one better than Tech) and a really bad Texas team. He has a 19-19 record; and placed 6 out of 10 teams. He gets to play pansies like SFA, Sam Houston, UTEP, SMU, Iowa State, and Kansas every year to help him be mediocre. He gets paid 3.1 million a year for that. TTU90 is pissed. Yes. I keep the bit going. So one would have to weigh the options.... if you are an assistant coach who could be searching for a job in a year or so or if you are an assistant coach who would likely be around another 5 years.

How much longer does Kingsbury have at Tech? With a 19-19 record and other Big 12 programs passing them by, I wonder how much patience Tech will have with him.

MGB: Could David Bailiff be a candidate at UTSA?

Is this one of those, "i want to get a raise from my employer" type plays he is making? -
MGB: Liberty QB Nick Starkel talks about UNT offer, plans

You would likely make for a horrible AD. Bad decisions like the 'ECU AD bad'. Context is everything. Art Brilies- 4-8 his first 2 years at Baylor. Would he be gone? Bill Snyder-1-10 his first year at KSU. I bet they are glad they held on to him. Mack Brown- 1-10 at UNC his first 2 seasons. They seemed to be happy with that hire. Tommy Tuberville - 5-6 in his first season at Auburn Bobby Petrino - 5-7 in his first season at Arkansas Justin Fuente - 4-8 in his first season at Memphis followed by a 3-9 his second season. Mike Gundy 4-7 his first season at OSU. Kirk Ferentz - 1-10 at Iowa his first season. Rich Rodriguez - 3-8 in his first season at West Virginia Sonny Dykes - 1-11 in his first season at Cal. Les Miles - 4-7 first season at OSU I am sure all of those Athletic Departments were happy with what they brought after poor beginning years.
