  1. Pearson and Guyton. i look forward to seeing what they can do.
  2. While I do know many wanted DD gone at that time, i don't recall many wanting RV gone at that time. I think most were still happy with how he changed the game day atmosphere, the build of the athletic center, and we didn't blame him for the vote down of the new student fees for a new stadium.
  3. Good old day syndrome is when you rewrite the past. I have heard more positive regard for DD this past 6 months then I ever did the last few years he was here. Most people wanted him gone because he was so frustrating. He did well in a weak league. Just because DD faired better than his successors doesn't mean that he should have stayed. It only means that RV made crappy replacements. The sentiment on the board was quite strong in wanting him gone then and I didn't blame them at the time... and I don't blame them now. Nor, do I rewrite things after seeing the crappy successors. I fault RV for the hires he made, not the one he fired.
  4. Thank you for not having 'good ol' day' syndrome. I agree with your post completely. And i don't recall many, if anyone, saying differently on this board at the time.
  5. I have figured it out... Wren is letting this thing nose dive as much as possible so that when he makes the hire. No matter what, new coach will likely have a better record then Benford's last year and thus, upward trajectory and the masses satisfied with WB's hire. You might have everyone else fooled in your maniacal plan. But you don't fool me WB! No no! You don't fool me!
  6. Yeah. He physically and skill-wise something I have never seen before. He also played on my intramural football team. Most of the guys did. I would just throw it up to what looked like 15 feet in the air (exaggerating) and like some beast he would jump up over everyone and get it. It made for lots of laughs and a lot of 'oh come on!' from the other team. They were good guys and got a long well. That was JJ's last year. The next, was a very different story. One time I had him in my office because some alcohol was found. He wasn't of legal age but I knew it wasn't him either. He took the fall for it and claimed it was his because he wanted to protect other players. I didn't do anything because the incident wasn't a big deal at all. But I did think it was cool that he was willing to take the responsibility for it even though it wasn't for him to take. I actually have a few funny stories of the players, and not the players that are always fun to reflect on
  7. Havig SL coach up the players like he did this past year to get to some winning ways will help us in this. Trying to be patient. We had a long ways to go from what DM left us with.
  8. It was fun. Because he just got here and wasnt benforded yet. Lol basically, he would stand at the basket and destroy anyone who dared. On the offensive end, I would just lob it up. Oh he also liked shooting from half court for funnies. But he drained more than half of them. He actually was really generous when we played. Trying to get everyone involved because we are on the sucky level compared to him. It was fun. He is a good guy.
  9. How did you know I played intramurals with him? are you a magician? I am totally freaking out.
  10. If NCAA doesn't do anything... how can we not expect a new culture of this from football programs?
  11. Come on Harry, you know we hired a miracle worker who has decided to not miracle work now that he is here. That is what complacency does to a man.
  12. Ah, I missed that.
  13. Zach forgets Kansas State.
  14. Well they did start every game tied. So....
  15. It worked out well for TCU.
  16. I agree. Which is why I will go with 7 wins for 2017.
  17. It wouldn't be the worst hire, but I do hope for something different. Right now, he is 1-9 in his last 10 games at LSU and doing horribly in conference. Granted, it is the SEC... but, he should have SEC caliber players. I still can't get over that nasty loss in their final game of the SEC tournament last year. My god.... That is TB level right there.
  18. Hopefully something similar to the 'it factor' of a certain Cowboy QB getting passed over three rounds in last year's NFL draft.
  19. I want to know which ones quit?!?
  20. I really look forward to seeing what English can do. I think he will be a key for us for the next several years.
  21. I hope he is alright and the injury doesn't stay with him. He is a good man, charlie brown.
  22. Ah, I see that Benford's Best Team (Part Deaux) just tied his own personal record for longest losing streak of his head coaching career.
