  1. Ha. Just make sure they are medium rare. None of this well done BS. Fixed.
  2. I swear you have posted this exact same thing before.
  3. I would also like to add that it would be nice to play 'Deep in the heart of Texas' from time to time.
  4. I miss the good ol’ days.
  5. What is the big ten network 2? What would that be on Dish Network?? 😬
  6. This is something that happens literally everywhere.
  7. He will need to change a lot of things... starting with tactics like the 4-3-3. Has any team ever won with that?! Truly asking because I can’t recall. The midfield is akin to an O line or Dline in football. Games are won or lost with that unit. If you dominate the midfield, chances are you won the game. I’d go with a 3-5-2 or a 3-1-3-1-2 or even a 4-4-1-1 formation. Anything to look to control the midfield. Then I would use primarily possession to tire out the other team and keep them on their toes. Also, I would quit having my forwards simply make North and south runs. They need to draw their defenders with them and create space. So I would want to see them show more of going towards opposite post (zig zag). And I would of had a dominate midfield by pushing my outside mids wide near the lines, so when i do push a through ball most all of them would be to the flags. My outside mids should be pushing the balls in from the flags to my forwards and centers who are crashing the goal. Punching it up the middle rarely ever works. Even in the pros or international level. Also, my opposite outside mid should be playing trashman on the other side. You know how many plays we could have reset if we had an opposite mid to pick up the ball that was sent too far or redirected. But no one was ever there... that was because of formation. Lastly, as a coach I would make sure my players do everything on the ball with purpose. So no more of this just putting the ball up without any real objective. It becomes simply kick ball and it is turn over after turn over. Player ratings would have been really low for this game for UNT because of that alone. Do everything with purpose, create high percentage chances. It is these philosophies/strategies that I would have implemented and I guarantee would have changed the game. But what do I know? I can’t soccer.
  8. I am not sayin that. He deserves the job. He just needs to change philosophies to take us to the next level.
  9. I would say we had no midfield or offense. The D wasn’t good either but Texas just moved it better. And when we got it we just pushed it with the long ball to space hoping for some prayer instead of working the ball up with possession. Texas out possessed us and showed a lot more creativity. We only had one legitimate scoring opportunity the entire time. Which is actually one more than we had during the CUSA championship game too. I am not surprised of the outcome because this style of play will never win championships or big tourney games. And once again not only has Hedlund never won an NCAA game, he hasn’t ever scored in one either. Style and tactics means everything and we simply can’t out athlete teams in games like this as we do during the regular season. It will always be like this as I mentioned days ago in another thread.
  10. We lack creativity. Very little smart runs and settling on unwise long balls. They don’t win you tourney games.
  11. Looks like a classic Hedlund Coached tourney team so far.
  12. Texas Tech got 3rd place in the Big 12 in a really weak conference that year. Their fourth place team went 8-10-2 that year. They weren't ranked 18th in the nation - they were 25th at the end and that was only because of them getting to the second round (by beating us because we played with long ball). The long ball didn't work well. We lost 2-0 and we didn't look good that game. We didn't do anything and had very little, if any, scoring opportunities. Our style of play lacks creativity against equal or greater skill teams and is likened to throwing it deep (hail mary) every time. Teams do not go far with that kind of play. It also is the easiest to contain and defend against. History shows we don't win in the tournament and that is because of our style. Hell, we were lucky just to win CUSA this year. That finals game was ugly.
  13. Not to be debbie downer, but I am never confident with a Hedlund team in the tournament. And, I am really not confident with this one. He is a good coach that gets it done in the regular season. But, his long ball style of play really lacks possession, creativity and smart movement seems to impede our ability to get it done when it matters most. His tournament record indicates that as well since he has never won a tournament game even when playing lesser teams like SMU or Texas Tech in the tournament. I hope I am wrong this time and we get a win. But, we tend to play messy. Watching the CUSA championship showed it was no different than in the past. I hope it goes differently this time.
  14. Is it just me or does our non conference schedule look brutal.
  15. Would you have predicted the way it turned out?
  16. Watching the championship game... i admit I am a soccer snob... but this looks like bad soccer, in my opinion. Kinda trash soccer. I want to chalk it up to the fact that they are just tired. And, I haven't seen a single game this season... but this kind of play is perfectly on par with most headland coached teams. We do well season in and season out because we have talent, but we play poorly. And our style of play makes it nearly impossible to win tourney games... which is why we haven't won any tourney games.
  17. We don’t deserve SL?! Come on man. What we don’t deserve is decades of piss poor commitment to athletics and a poor product that not anyone would really want. We have been down for a long time... to think the very occasional winning season to miraculously change that isn’t being reasonable. The committed fans love SL and what we are doing right now. But you gotta see more than just this year to understand why we aren’t sending our life savings and first born to the program.
  18. Well, we are about 18 injuries away until SL looks up to the stands, points to me, and tells me to put on a jersey for me to take the team on the game winning drive at the CUSA championship game. Which we do, of course. It is a dream that will be a reality in just a matter of no time now that I have two less to worry about. #itsgonnahappen hashtagcantwaitfortheinjuriestopileuptobetheman #stillgotit
  19. Stream was choppy at first but then turned out just fine. I was happy with it. Unlike those crappy refs!
  20. Dilly Dilly!
  21. What on earth was Mcclain doing on that one?!?
  22. Coach got pissed at the growing criticism of his style, decisions, play, being out-coached, etc. And much of it was certainly worthy of being criticized. I won’t forget the frustration that so many had with this team. And clearly, he has learned from it because he runs a polar opposite style now.
  23. Yes. So glad to have the coach back that called the fans MF’ers. :)
  24. I demand a full refund.
  25. Agreed. Shreveport is where you stay and then take the quick ride over to Ruston.
