Call me crazy: I am saying we go 8-4! Great season!
Travis replied to JT Hammons's topic in Mean Green Football
You do know you predict our defense to be better than our 2013 defense?! The one with the team with arguably the best linebacker and secondary core we have ever had. And anchored by big Abbe and Sarge... Better than that one. I hate to say it and i truly hope I am wrong but I don't think I have ever been more pessimistic than heading into this season.- 45 replies

UNT Loses 1-0 To Oklahoma In Season Opener
Travis replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
It is bad sloppy soccer. It will never work in a big pressure games like the NCAA Tournament. And to date, Hedlund's teams always always always perform poorly in those games... even against some teams that were much more winnable. It is also the easiest to defend. 2 games in and we have yet to score a goal in the field of play. On the bright side, we at least put 7 shots on frame against Alabama. Which is a slight improvement to the 4 from the previous game. -

Reece Mooney and Stone Earle could be gone too

Maybe. But the guy went into a half with the lead and the guy behind him ended the game without it. 🤷🏻♂️ -

Former UNT signee Layne Taylor commits to central Arkansas
Travis replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Maybe my anticipations were too high for him and I thought he would be a major contributor early. If he wasn’t coming here I’d just assume he had something we would perceive as a step up. But maybe this was a more mutual parting?? Otherwise I am a bit perplexed. -
I could have sworn his hair was a wee bit redder.

I don’t know why we do the firing bit either.

Can we move this post to another forum. This has no reason to be here.

BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal
Travis replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I am grateful for him keeping us in games. But I’d like a true closer all the same. Let’s just hope the team he joins doesn’t need to rely on him for any last second shots. Be sure they ain’t fallin. -
I think he would be sad for his former players if he is the guy I think he is.
-
I agree. My two cents officially placed.
-
I can’t remember a time we have been embarrassed this bad without an obvious excuse (like when the entire team was sick vs St Mary’s last year).
-
We have to find a new center
-
30% shooting from the field ain’t it. Nothing from Scott or Noland. not a good sign.
-
A lay up would be nice.
-
Is it just me or is SH’s coach a bit whiney?

Seton Hall with a 10-0 run

We look sloppy on offense.

Now that we knocked off the Southland Conference level team as is custom in our NIT opening round… now on to a really big challenge.

We didn’t make the tournament last year because of politics. We were the first team ever to be ranked that high and not get in the tournament. For all intents and purposes we were an NCAA tournament team. There is no reason with the compliment of Edwards and Nolan that we would have GREATLY improved over just losing Kai to graduation. I think we could have easily won those nine games you were mentioning.
