Thats true Emmitt... In soccer, College Coaches don't go to the high school games to recruit you. They go the club soccer leagues. But, don't get too decieved about it all. just about anybody can get on a club soccer team. What matters is which club team you are on. For instance, the well known clubs around the area are the Dallas Texans, and Texans. Well, those two were the better ones when I was in High school in the mid-late 90's. But there are also lesser teams like Aces and Mean Green (not sure if they still exist anymore), etc. I have heard of Sting and Solar... But, don't know much about them these days. so it can be decieving.

Why would you want this guy. It seems quite obvious that he doesn't want us.
-
It will be nice to see all the size we have for next season.

I like that "we belong here" attitude. We need to believe that we can compete with any team in the nation.

I listened to the game on my way to Oklahoma. All those in the vehicle with me kept complaining at hearing an individual in the stands. He was rather annoying and only inflicted unnecessary frustration. I don't understand how venting in such a way will truly help any situation like that. Furthermore, I think it is funny how an individual can dish it out all game long criticizing coaches and players and then once someone of the program says something back they get all fussy.

I think aTm could beat Arizona State at ASU without question. Maybe last nights game is more of an indicator of things than the aTm game will be. I hope i am wrong because i am going to college station for that game. and come to think of it... i wouldn't write off Houstonso easily if they played the same team we did last night. I suppose it matters which houston team that comes out. The one that lost to Virginia Commonwealth or the one that beat LSU. unlike the previous UNC-Wilmington game, i was so happy that we were puttin' up a strong game early. That is something to build on. We are going to have to ride on the success of Jeff Simpson,, Kendrick Davis and Isaac Hines. If we get anywhere, these guys are the ones to take us. Go mean green.

Travis would be one hell of a coach. (background music plays) Why should Travis be our head guy?? He promises to come to this board daily and hear how the game plan should be. Travis would vow to his most devoted that tortillas would be allowed. Travis will not come attack you in the stands if you criticize his strategy. And he would not allow warm beverages in bottles to be served at the concession. AND, By God he will serve this program as he does his country in truth, justice and the american way! Coach Dickey does none of these things? Would he be your man you want for your alma mater's program? *paid for by the Travis-for-head-coach campaign*

I am happy to see others trying to raise the standard of our athletic program. No respect lost here.

As i see it, unless i read it wrong, we are ranked 212 out of 334 teams sandwiched inbetween Samford and Tulane. Where do you think we will end up. preseason ranking of UNT's opposition for the 2005-2006 season: Hardin Simmons: NR- Div.III UNC Wilmington: 143 Arizona State: 80 Chattanooga: 148 Texas a&m: 78 Nicholls State: 323 Angelo State: NR- Div.II Houston: 150 UT Permian Basin: NR- NAIA Stephen F. Austin: 234 Tulsa: 136 Lousianna Lafeyette: 70 New Orleans: 179 Florida International: 242 Denver: 132 Arkansas Little Rock: Arkansas State: 154 Troy: 192 South Alabama: 205 Middle Tennessee: 140 Western Kentucky: 84 UT-Pan American: 279 Oh, by the way... is there any way we can actually have a complete home schedule that includes NCAA Div. I teams only. Because it blows my mind on how scheduling NAIA and Div II-III teams can help this program.

I think the SunBelt Coaches think the same way seeing as how only Troy is voted worse than us this season in the west.

I am hopeful for an 18 win season. Is that request too great for this team?

I AM MAKING THIS STATEMENT. PERIOD!
Travis replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't blame you for feeling that way. I have been gettin' that vibe for some time now. I do wonder what the players think of him... if they really buy into his system. -
Will/Should DD get another contract extension
Travis replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I went for the hell no. He already has it extended till 2009. Thats plenty years (actually more than plenty, more like too much based on the numbers) to find out whether he deserves another. Me thinks it is a no brainer. -
As long as there is a way to be with the North Texas section i am good

I don't blame some people for not coming back after that first home game. Niether do I blame them for not going to any game from what they could see or hear from the games. So my counter arguement to that is... if you want to fill fouts.. Win some games! By the way, OOC gets more attention than sunbelt
