  1. Wow. that schedule is exciting. Imagine going to all those incredible home games.
  2. this is just sad... they give us that much disrespect (and we deserve it). But, whats worse is the other team actually covers it. Thanks DD and co.
  3. Yes, and DD carries the same weight and respect as Landry too. "What may be right for you, may not be right for some, it takes different strokes to rule the world."
  4. Couldn't help with the finances.. but I would love to get involved with time, effort, and opportunities of that nature... that would be a friggin' blast!
  5. Word brotha. word
  6. I do not know why I am doing this but I will bite. 4 conference titles weren't enough. They meant nothing to anyone outside of the conference which is what we are striving for.... recognition. It only further insults our conference when we sweep it but get destroyed by everyone else outside of the friggin' league. We complain, and rightly so, because we want results... steady and progressive results. We complain about Dickey in the past because he seemed to have no game plan. And what little he did have was simple and predictable. What we saw against SMU was something us meanie greenies haven't noticed before... which was he kept us all guessing at which play call was coming next. Don't give me grief about the recruiting and facilities as they have nothing to do with getting out-coached.
  7. You mean, take his lose like a man.
  8. I agree with Dickey.. Phillips did pretty good during the SMU game. I am not going to knock on his performance. It was only overshadowed by Wilson's.
  9. I would agree with Russ Goodall on Holman. that was damn impressive what I saw on saturday.
  10. I am happy they weren't the usual lopsided losses. But, frustrated that we couldn't win those either. They are only moral victories. I like seeing that we were more competitive as a conference this weekend but that doesn't mean anything till we get W's.
  11. Preach on brotha... preach on.
  12. I think I can never take you seriously ever again. You lost all credibility with that to me with any of your post in the future. You now get the silent treatment.
  13. Offense: F Defense: D- Special Teams: D-
  14. I had to laugh when I read this comment by Phillips. How sad is it that they consider their play overall "all right". Nice standard for success.
  15. Dupree Jones... didn't last long either.. i think he was kicked off. If moss would have panned out.. he would have been something special. He was better than his brother who is playing at Florida State right now.
  16. Former US majority leader Dick Army came from UNT. Now many may argue about his political position... but none can argue that his name is one of the most masculine-guy names ever.
  17. Doctorate program in Psychology is considered the best in the nation (or one of 'em) Likewise with our Accounting program (so I am told). We have the highest rated environmental ethics program in the world ( know that for sure because that is a philosophy program). *EDIT: counseling program is also one of the best grad programs in the nation in counseling.
  18. Travis Milller: famous UNT alum
  19. Oh come on man... It doesn't matter who is in there, the result will likely be the same. Besides, this isn't his first major action, he did play last year. He is a big boy and can take a hit. It doesn't matter who will start, both QB's will get playing time he just gets it first. The only way he stays in is if he gives a reason to not pull him out.
  20. Football: Phillips to start for UNT against Texas Meager out with concussion 02:06 PM CDT on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 By Brett Vito / Staff Writer Matt Phillips will finally get his chance to start at quarterback for North Texas this weekend. UNT head coach Darrell Dickey announced on Tuesday that the sophomore will start for the Mean Green when they take on defending national champion Texas on Saturday in Austin. Phillips played in a reserve role behind starter Daniel Meager last season and threw for 448 yards and four touchdowns. Meager, Phillips and junior college transfer Woody Wilson competed for the starting job in spring practice and throughout fall camp. Meager has been suffering from the lingering effects of a concussion and missed several practices the last few weeks. Dickey said Tuesday that Meager would not play against Texas. While Wilson will not start, he will receive extensive playing time. Dickey said that the competition between all three quarterbacks would continue into the season and Meager would have an opportunity to compete for the job once he returns to full strength. For more on Phillips, please see Wednesday’s editions of the Denton Record-Chronicle and www.dentonrc.com .
  21. I agree that this is something that should have been done WAY long ago. Yes, it is good that they are doing something with it. But think, they could have had so much more had they done this awhile back. i.e. the Arlington Cowboys.
