Make no mistake about it... this was all coach dickey tonight. He doesn't have to be there for them to run DD's game.

That team hasn't come out since and it looks like it aint happenin'. Of course i want them to do well... and I will still show my support. But, I have no confidence in this team to get the job done. I have much more confidence that we wont. Love the name by the way.

You still have questions about this team? I am pretty sure things are answered for me after the result of the Tulsa, Akron, MTSU, and yes even the FIU game. I pretty much see what we have. We aren't winning the belt this year fellas. ASU, Troy, and La. La will be ahead of us when it is all said and done.

I am glad you said it... While he doesn't deserve the All-World Coach of the Year, he is moving a super-bad program in the right direction. And that deserves credit. The problem we cry out with DD is that he is back sliding and whatever "success" we had means nothing now that we didn't build on it. While the results may be somewhat similar, the directions of the programs are going two different directions.

You would think that a Miami commentator would be more professional than that.

That is funny.. because everyone that I shared the story of the game just laughed. They wanted to be there... but only to witness the hilarity and jokeness of it all. I am not impressed with the win by any stretch. Though it was very fun and frustrating to watch all at the same time. Triggity trav of the chinese chicken.

Yes... But, if you stop donating to a program that is set up this way, the fellow alumns and fans will stone you. So, dont stop the support!!!

All I know is I want to give money to a program that I know is trying to succeed. And when you have the leader of that program... say a head coach.. that is not succeeding, then we must place someone in there that will. And when that one doesn't work out, we get another. But, i am not going to give my power away to something that will not demand a certain excellence.

If that is what they would like. But, a good PR move ( I would think) would be to send a message to potential supporters as well. By the way, for those who mentioned that the MGC pays for all the sports... I already know and understand that. But, the two sports I care most about and go see are men's BB and football. Those two are the ones that will be the only reason I give.

I will not give my money (and it isn't much as a recent grad) away to something I don't support. And I don't support Darrel Dickey nor the product on the field I am seeing. I will only support this athletic department when I see that they raise the standard for success. Until then, I will put my money in other places. I will act when I see our athletic officials act. And I don't mean that I will give once I see success. I will give when I see that they won't give a tenure to some coach who doesn't deserve it. that I see an effort on their part to bring in some quality coach in here.

I just graduated two years ago. I would love to join the Mean Green Club. But, I never will until i see we have an administration raising the bar of success. That means, making good hires and fires when necessary. The only money they will recieve from me is a ticket into the game. And I am not so sure I am going to another one this year. So long as we get the results with who we have that we are right now... i refuse to support that. my two pennies worth

Yes they have changed sports editors. But that was a year or so ago when I believe the sports editor passed away. I liked him by the way. What I think it is... is Vito is trying to play nice with the team. the only way to be on the inside is to give them what they want for the most part. Because, i can't fathom that Vito actually would support a coach that produces what Dickey does on the field.

That is funny you say that... Because Tim MacMahon the guy that Vito replaced was an extremely good beat writer and he managed to write an opinion article often. He wasn't afraid to say when there was something wrong and challenge.

I thought about that one Big Dawg. I would be happy with this season because of last years crappy record/showing. Though I am extremely frustrated with such horrible showings against very very winnable games. My opinion, however, is that we wont win out. I am thinking two more losses this year at least. here is to hoping I am wrong.

haha... i had to laugh when i read brutal non conference. you must be joking. Brutal is what the conference the Lucky Irish have this year. that is brutal.

I think scottie from the other board said it best... "Akron had a punt blocked on their own 5-yard line, missed two extra points, missed a field goal, shanked a punt onto their own 20, allowed an onside kicked to be recovered at midfield and didn't score a point in the second half....and they beat UNT by 20 freaking points. Dickey is indeed...the Sun Belt coach of the year."
