  1. I understood what you meant. Good article. I am glad to know that there are some that truly care about the universiity and its success.
  2. Working with the City of Denton from 2000 to mid-2006 I can tell you that UNT Playmaker is actually right on this. Both, the natatorium and water park was expected to pay itself off within a few years but has ended up costing them much more. The figure Playmaker showed is actually more correct. The whole park didn't go over nearly as well as they thought it would and has costed the city dearly. So to their genious they made a skate board park and a dog park for some reason thinking that would bolster participation in the city rec programs. Furthermore, their rec program is in very bad shape when you compare it to neighboring cities. This city is run poorly by its leaders.
  3. it doesn't impress me much listing the same few guys 8 different times from seperate list. You can't tout just Jonas Buckles and Jamario Thomas to make you a good recruiter. I never saw a complete group of guys from Dickey as I am seeing from Dodge. Anywho... I disagree... i didn't think he could recruit well. He did get all-districts and all-areas with the occasional "star"... we need to get something alittle more than that... kinda like what Dodge is pulling in. something more complete. Just my opinion.
  4. I thought our kick off special teams and kick return special teams were horrible the past few years. Our punting was truly the only special thing we had. And he had a lot of practice last year.
  5. I want to see Tune at the QB position alittle more. i haven't given up on that just yet.
  6. It seemed that the Briles duo did well at Houston.
  7. I think Parcells was an excellent coach. It was genius in developing Romo and taking a risk on naming him starter. He was smart in moving Ellis to LB. The defense was just fine till that point. I think what success was received by this team this year is due to his decisions.
  8. I did speak with a few former player who really cared for the program. He had absolutely nothing nice to say about DD and staff's recruiting efforts. It was quite depressing really.
  9. First of all, it is really hard to dye a football program. And I don't like the idea of our unis looking tie-dye-ish. Second of all, two of those teams SMU and Tulsa aren't even in the WAC (they are in CUSA). There is no point in being in that WACked out conference because the benefits don't even come close to the expense. All we would have is La Tech to travel with. And outside of Boise St and FresnoI dont care too much about the schools there either.
  10. Thats why we hired Todd Dodge. Because, he is the one that the players can believe in. He will recruit well. He is the NT football messiah. lets throw palm branches at his feet the next time he comes to the athletic complex.
  11. It hasn't ever seemed like they play real "team" ball. It seems more like street ball.
  12. That was fantastic man.
  13. I just don't see Bell running the offense all that well. He doesn't strike me as that great of a shooter and he seems to turn the ball over a lot. He may get a few assist but he does nothing to impress. just my opinion.
  14. I thought this game told you quite a bit. Didn't it? We face a team with a losing record against weak weak teams that beat them on their court. and we couldn't do the same. What does that say about us?
  15. no. We still lose when it counts most
  16. You will realize that this is a common feeling this time of the year with JJ basketball. Every season the same. And this time of year, we always get beat. Plain and simple
  17. Typical JJ basketball. Season in season out... same result.
  18. PUT ME ON THE TO DO LIST PLEASE!
  19. I was thinking the same thing.... Big Dawg is pretty good at giving good info. So, when something like this is done... the humor escapes me and then I get scurred.
  20. Tech is losing pretty bad right now and it is all but over... Including that game the big 12 sits at 1-4 right now with their only win a close one with OSU over Alabama.
  21. We lost to freakin' New Orleans. We are 1-1 in conference and there are many more ahead. I support this team and will be there regardless. But, I don't expect us to do well in the conference tournament.. There is a difference between expecting and hoping. And I only hope.
  22. I agree... it does seem like the deck is fixed. But, that is life. We don't stop trying. And when we do have the opportunity like this year with 2 SBC teams in bowls then we need to seize it. UNT has blown it with the four consecutive bowl games and going only 1-3. Furthermore, we as a conference have to knock off the big boys every now and then. I still think Troy gets alot of respect for what they did three years ago against Missouri. We need more of that to shut 'em up, even if our mountain to climb is steeper than theirs.
  23. There is no reason we shouldn't go 78-1 in his first 79 football games since he has done it already. anything less only proves he was just coaching at a school that already had the talent and just came into a successful program. Don't F up dodge! We have our eagle eyes on you! One of my eagle eyes is bigger!!!
  24. The best way to shut them up is to win when it counts. If we lose, then perhaps they are right. The burden is on us to prove our worth.
  25. Some variation of NT would work for me. though, not new news.
