no defense of DD here.

Based on my experiences with students and fans that have been to the games lately... it is getting harder and harder to convince them to come out to the games. After every loss it gets tougher. You can count on the fans at the games decreasing.

I recall a few saying this about Arkansas as well. I won't say we win any games this year. Based on what I have seen, I have no expectations of this team. I wonder what is the teams expectations for themselves.

I am glad you said this. My thoughts exactly. Saying you aren't a coach so don't question is a logical fallacy. Look at the argument itself and break down what is actually being said... attacking who is saying it does not making you victor of an athe discussion. Even so, the thread began by one who actually played college ball. Eagle-96, perhaps you are right. But, I think we are much forgiving for the freshman than for the junior. Well, at least I would speak for me. From the players I have talked to it seems that Vizza has no problem being confident in what he is doing/will do here at UNT. His mentality reminds me of that of Scott Hall. Since the mistakes are similar for the junior and freshman... might as well give the freshman that much needed experience.

I think so. 3 years have left no question about what else is left in his bag-o-tricks.

Oklahoma-UNT this year looked like the worse game ever.... So did the Texas one where we lost 65-0.

I would have a problem with this if I was Meager. At the very least, be upset by my inability to secure that spot for a season.

I can't believe Notre Dame is making such a big deal about being 0-4. I mean, come on, we start out with that all the time. Irish wussies.

Daniels.. i was trying to think of his name with the earlier post. I liked him a lot. I personally think Mike Pruitt never lived up to the hype when he came in. That may be because I had alot of expectations from him to put up crazy stats. you might be right though. He could be considered greatness if he didn't follow what he followed.

With D-line he had two that were great Booger and Awasome. I think Cardwell was good too. In my opinion, I think those that were around Booger were better because of him. As for the O-line he might have one good one on the line... but, not a good unit of guys. Zuniga was great during his time... Lineberry was good at another time. Somewhere in between there we had Andy Brewster that was at his prime. Perhaps if you could put them on one unit we have something special. When we say he couldn't recruit said position... we are not saying he couldn't bring in a great one here and there. We are saying that he couldn't do it consistently. For example... Based on what we have seen, I know Meager can throw a long ball on a single play. I know he can't do it consistently well. Ergo, we say Meager can't throw the deep ball.

Not a bad plan.

DD certainly couldn't recruit good linemen. I am hoping for that to change with the dodge.

I agree. But, don't be shocked if he does just as bad as Meager. I want to see him out there. And him being a true freshman gives him a little slack on mistakes. Unlike if you were an upperclassmen making similar ones.

you are crazy. We just want success both through the air and ground. We didn't get either out of DD for some time.

Did you ever notice in the 2nd half how we couldn't hit those 6-8 yard passes? What worked in the 1st half no longer was there in the 2nd. Their D made some transitions. They forced us to hit over the top.

DM seems to pass well when no pressure is on him... But, give a hint of a pass rush and he falls apart.

The biggest criticism is that we just lose with DM. He had big shoes to fill following Scott Hall. Regardless if Hall had some amazing talent or not.. He won. With DM we don't win. Thus, you get criticism. It may not be all his fault. But we lose. We wouldn't (and shouldn't) be shocked if Vizza was in there and made the same mistakes as DM. But, at least he is a true freshman and not a Junior who has much experience. Something we can look to the future with. DM's mistakes as a junior are the same as they were when he was a freshman. They give me tired head. But, again... We just lose with him as qb.

I agree with you Rick What hurt us most on D was the simple fact that they were out there practically the entire 2nd half.

It seems that we just lose when he is at qb. It may not be all on him.... but, we just lose plain and simple. What frustrates me is that it appears to be the same mistakes most every time. We expected to see his TD's to interception ratio to be awful. But, it is disappointing when the picks that are made on him were truly mistakes that he should have learned from already. As for the long ball... he needs to get ball in the air quicker he waits too long and usually underthrows the guy. He just can't connect with them. 2nd game in a row where we choked at the end. disappointing.
