  1. You might know more than I.... But, what I see is Denton offering incentives, tax breaks and timeline renegotiations (rayzor ranch) to help get projects off the ground. I see Denton being helpful... I blame the developers and the economy more than I do the city council.
  2. Today at 1:30 US plays Egypt. Hopefully we can scrounge up what little respect we can from this tourny and prepare for the world cup. Likely, this next year is going to be real long outside of what we do in CONCACAF.
  3. Are you referring to the drive thru or no drive thru thing? If that is the case then i know that when it comes to the developer... even though he keeps referring to that as the key issue... that really isn't the issue. It's all a money thang!
  4. I don't see how it is the city's fault for the failures and misfortune of those heading up Rayzor Ranch and The Fry St. Project. If anything... the city has been more than accommodating for those groups to be successful.
  5. KRAM, i am glad you appreciate the sport. I really don't have many to talk to about it but i am just as enthusiastic about our national us team as unt football. I can't miss a game. I was pleased with our game against italy. I gave them a pass on everything in that game because of circumstances. But, the brazil game is without excuse. This is the 2nd really bad game in the last 4 played. I have been critical of Coach Bradley before and I am even more adamant about it now. He makes lousy personnel decisions and even worse in-game strategy. Why is Beasley even out there?! Altidore has a horrible first touch and lacks speed to be a consistent forward. He has just gotten over an injury and has no business being on the pitch right now... we have to have someone better than him at forward. Demerit constantly disappoints because he is afraid to put himself in front of a shot. Our midfield is too weak and inconsistent. We possess practically no offense and make jv mistakes in the midfield. Dempsey holds on to the ball way too long. I even believe that Donovan is fading. And he actually started Sacha! SACHA!?! what has he ever done to warrant a start at the confederations cup. I am beginning to face the music that we just aren't good. Not until we get a good coach that teaches discipline/focus for a full 90 and a team with greater depth and knowledge. We have none of that. We have to have players in our system that are better than this. If not, it will be a long next 4 years. I am hoping the US Soccer prez will wake up and realize that Coach Bradley will not take us to the next level unless he learns to quit bringing out the personnel that he does. But, it is too late to do that now because of the world cup next year. hell, I would rather have Lalas out there coaching.... at least he would be better with in-game strategy. The only thing i am consistently happy with is Bocanegra, Hejduk, and Spector... they are the consistent bright spots. Outside of that we have no one near that level of play. I would like to see Cherundulo and Brian Ching more. I don't know if they are hurt or not. Why aren't they playing right now!?
  6. I like the games we have for non conference. But, why do we only have 4 home conference games and 7 away?! Did I misunderstand this?! http://www.meangreensports.com/SportSelect...&SPSID=9154
  7. I am asking do you like your job?
  8. I think you should be our next AD.... I want a black one.
  9. Is that eagle doing the big nasty on the tank. "Mini-me, quit humping the lazer!"
  10. He was good enough for West Virginia to see something in him.
  11. Rousseau, the well known philosopher, would make a similar argument about forfeiting your rights.
  12. don't trust a ho!
  13. Yeah, in most schools... especially the smaller ones... they do that. but, i mean that most college coaches take 1 qb to for the qb position a year.
  14. As I understand most coaches like to take 1 qb a year.
  15. before i join all of you who have no problem with this... i want to find out if there is in fact a problem. i would love to see a study done on presidents pay plus perks and see where we line up. if it is status quo to remain competitive with others then i might not have a problem with it. In my opinion it does seem that 500k is a bit excessive for the job. But, if this is the game we have to play to get better admins... then so be it i guess. i
  16. anybody have any more pictures of the stadium besides the one on DRC?
  17. I actually just wanted to see improvement from the d. And I believe I came away with that. The first drive of the game when we scored was bittersweet. I didn't like how they just walked down the field at will. I was happy seeing the D step up. I take the spring game for what it is.... a spring game. I really don't think we should have that many expectations going into a spring game and just enjoy a football fix.
  18. Memphis is said to match any offer Kentucky gives.
  19. I think it is interesting that Open U and Bye U put up the exact same results against all of their competition every year.
  20. Best reporter we have had? I don't know what you mean by this quote. I am one of those who really likes Vito. But, I am a huge Tim Macmahon fan and loved his reporting/opinion pieces most of all.
  21. Even so... This is a funny thread. Good job lifer.
  22. I believe the only reason non-bcs commisioners should go to Washington is to get rid of the BCS all together. Not to join them and be a part of the problem.
  23. Ha... no. I don't work for any restaurant. Though, I love Pourhouse a million times more than central grill. I am kidding about my first post... well, sort of. I wasn't serious when I said that I wanted them ruined. I guess Quoner is the only one that can have sarcasm. But, I don't like them and since you guys asked... while I think it is nice that they support mean green... that doesn't mean they get a free pass on all things bad service. I deal with many establishments next to unt because of my job and my experience has been a rollercoaster with them. They have been real nice at times and other times they have been one of the rudest i have dealt with. And, i am not one of those customers who is difficult at all. The wife or head woman there has always been sweet. But, that guy (the husband, i assume) was and has been rude and lacks common courtesy most every time i have been there. In fact, so much so that the last time I went with a group of 6, every one of them swore not to return because of that one person. To make a long story short, it was one of the worst experiences I have had concerning customer treatment at a restaurant next to my time at Obzeets. Anyone been there (kinda in Carrolton)? that owner is a douche. I would have summed it up that it was a bad day.... but, he must have a lot of bad days. To top it off, a co worker of mine talked to an employee of theirs who was a pretty decent person. And they may have a nice face to the customers... but, that individual's testimony was something a little more different to their staff. I have more bad stories but there is no need to keep going. thats my judgement. and yes, just the judgement of a customer only. LONG LIVE DENTON COUNTY INDEPENDENT HAMBURGER! *disclaimer* no I don't represent them either
  24. I am disappointed in you for going to central grill. *tisk tisk* I have made it a life goal to turn as many people away from them as I can leading that business to ultimate ruin.
  25. ah, the ol' bait and switch tactic. Say it is free to hook 'em and then once they are in take 'em for every penny they are worth!
