I wasn't a big fan of Central Grill... or the owners. They put up cool flags and what-not about the university. and i appreciated it. but, after a bad run-in my view of them will never be the same. I might go now it is under new management. Central Grill's food was mediocre. I could buy the stuff from Kroger and put it in the oven/frying pan and it would taste the exact same. I go to restaurants because they can make things taste better than I can.

Agreed. The lunatic right and the moronic left... Really, aren't we all just a bunch of stupid crazies?! -
If he will be on the team.. it won't show until the fall as I understand. Plus, we know how reliable the meangreensports rosters can be.

Yeah. Ok, because I heard a rumor that we might be scrapping those because of budget.... it sounds like it might not be true then. -

We are still going with endzone seating right? -
I read his book, "the language of God" and thought it was an interesting read. He is often criticized because he argues that science doesn't explain everything just as Faith (philosophy, religion, etc.) doesn't explain everything. Both are needed and compliment each other. I agree with his initial premise. He was noted for calling the DNA that he put together in binary form from the Human Genome project as the language that God spoke us into being.

If RV wants to write a response on here.... why the hell not?! I don't care what other AD's do. If the other AD's don't want to use a message board for communication that is there perogative too. He is just trying to keep up a positive relationship (or spin) with the fans that care most about the program. Why do you fault him for that? God, some of you can be difficult and picky.

That is why I would like to see congress step in on this. If they can't govern correctly then congress should strong arm 'em.

To think that NCAA isn't corrupt would be quite naive... even over games played by kids. The primary evil I see is that not everyone is given an equal opportunity to play for the national championship... sure, there are other issues but this is the one that I see that the BCS is monopolizing the game. Perhaps it is because it is coming from the outside looking in but, regardless, i think we all know the injustice of the BCS system. And, I would hope I would have the value and character to recognize that inequality if I were on the other side. The system is messed up and, even as a fiscal conservative, I feel comfortable in demanding equality in opportunity. That kind of regulation is important to prevent organized monopoly and corruption that is apparent.

The BCS is different though. It is rigged in a way that gives prefence to BCS in which you can be the best, but if you aren't in the BCS you wont play for a national championship. I think the system should be equal in opportunity, not equality in actuality. There is no reason that the NCAA should be discriminatory and not allow the equal opportunity for all schools at any given year to get the national championship.

what happened? i can't get to the link. -
I was about to say the same thing. The world doesn't work that way. The most deserved do not always get what they deserve.

I have been to Waco... They do have better facilities because of the money they recieve. And how did Baylor get into the SWC? Should they have? They got there because of politics in which they had solid rep from an influential person who wouldn't have it any other way. UNT missed out, not necessarily because of lack of merit (we were pretty good in the 70's), because of politics.
-
The problem with this argument is that you assume that because you are BCS you work hard and because you aren't BCS you don't and are lazy. Especially in the college world, many colleges get a piece of the BCS pie because of opportunity that wasn't inheritly theirs but still were awarded alot. I look at Baylor and think of that kind of thing. Politics doesn't necessarily mean they deserved it more.

I agree. It is certainly one of the biggest wins and it is in a major tourney. When we are focused we can compete with anyone in the world. We obviously don't match other teams skill-wise. So, we must beat them with heart, intensity, and focus. That we can do. As proven today... when we want it, it shows. I am proud of our boys. I am not so sure I agree with you about Altidore. I really don't think he has too much to offer outside of his frame. He has a poor first touch, a little slow for a forward, makes bad decisions, and doesn't have a consistent/solid shot. I am sure he could get better as he is a younger player. But, right now I don't find him impressive. Not to rain on our parade but we were lucky his shot still went in given that he shot it right at the keep. I have had problems with Demerit but you can't complain with a man-of-the-match performance like he showed today. Hats off to Demerit and Howard the two game mvp's.

Confederations Cup

I can't believed we pulled out a 3-0 win. It was nice to see heart and consistency. Though, Egypt did give us a scare on many opportunities. What is even better is because of our 3-0 win and Brazil beating Italy 3-0 we win the 2nd place in our group and advance to the next round. It is unlikely we will pull out another win against #1 in the world Spain. It will have to be the game of a lifetime. And given our inconsistency that likely wont happen. But, then again, it was highly unlikely we would be sticking around for another game. USA! USA! USA! USA! -

All I can say is what I have been told.... But, many of those things you say were stalled by the city especially the fry st. deal was because of the money issues the developer himself had. Some of those issues were bad decision making on their part. it was easier to point out this issue of a drive thru rather than to say he didn't have resources to move this thing. Port 35 as you said seemed to be victim of economic issues and lack of interest... but, i don't see the city's fault in this. As for what the city required for the rayzor crew I would like to know why they made those request and how reasonable they were. I don't know these things. But, i do know they have extended deadlines and tax breaks to get this thing going. If they didn't want them here they wouldn't do these things in the first place. In the 90's it was widely known that city officials wanted a small town so they forced a lot of people away.... But, from my circle I hear that has changed in many, many ways. We have a long way to go to bring in more business that will support city infrastructure. But, to me, blaming the city council solely is a bit unfair. And yes, i worked for the city at one point, now I work for the university.... and I too have lived here all my life. But, i don't think that has anything to do with this conversation but I am glad we can share our origins and employment. -
Confederations Cup

It is almost half.... We are winning 1-0 and looking much better than the past two games. But, Dempsey is killing us out there... and Altidore has made mental lapses...we could have easily put 1 or 2 more on.
