  1. Look for this year to have an ass load of juco's for dodge to try to salvage this thing. It isn't over. I think the consequences of him coming back will ripple on for awhile.
  2. he is. gone that is...
  3. I guess I am one of those. I will care when the people in charge care. i don't like being lied to and be told our improvement this year is significant enough for dodge to stay. 2-10 is not significant enough. i am done for now. see ya in 2011 when we get a new coach.
  4. See ya in 2011
  5. who said it was a five year rebuilding job? furthermore, with rebuilding you should see improvement with each year. And improvement where it counts! Not a 2 win, then 1 win, then 2 win seasons.
  6. Just like Dodge said we would win 5-6 games this year?
  7. I want somebody who can coach the men on the field and in life. If Fran can't do both, i don't want him.
  8. You couldn't be more right.
  9. i'll take him

  11. Go. For the love of God.. Go!
  12. I don't like DD because he didn't care how his players' behavior was. He, unlike Dodge, didn't care to make men out of these boys. I didn't care for DD because of his attitude and his product. I don't like how he represented the program. I do think most of his wins were weak by beating up schools from the weakest conference in the nation. As well as not caring at all about getting wins outside of conference. He didnt' care to elevate the program on the national scene and he belittled the fans. He constantly complained about having a tough schedule and when he finally got a decent one (the season we played Akron, Tulsa, etc.) he did nothing with it. And, he seemed to do have a bit of success from one good recruiting class and though some how good players would come with out him really doing much work. Again, players (one of which was my roommate) often criticized him for this. Also, he did very little recruiting. I often heard criticism of his players about how poor of a recruiter he was. He was just as obstinate as Dodge is but in a different way (i.e. he wouldn't fire the worst OC in the nation, no balance in offense). DD was crappy, so is dodge. let's get a not-so-crappy coach in here, how 'bout? Just scattershooting here... but do you not remember how many delay of game penalties we would get under Dickey!? Or the poor use of Time Outs that would come back and haunt us?? He was a bad coach.
  13. You know as good as I do that the numbers aren't correct. I have been to many games and I have never seen such inflated attendance numbers. And, all you have to do is look at how many people come to beginning games only to not show up the next few weeks. Each time it gets worse and worse. If you can't recognize that then you haven't been going to the games lately. IT would be a fallacy to credit mean green club to what Dodge is doing right now. You don't know that and it is weak to give this current program credit for that. People are tired of what is going on. You should hear what the students are saying. And, I don't blame them...
  14. he won 2 games off of the easiest schedule in a decade or so. Next years wont be so kind as I understand. I no longer buy into the "give Dodge another year" talk. I remember this talk going on last year too. I understood why we gave him an extra year then... i don't now.
  15. It is not only us negatives on the board that feel he should go. Just look at the crowds (or lack there of) in the stands. If it wasn't for half the crowd being ARMY we would have had yet another weak showing. Top it off, you should hear what students are saying around campus. Something must be done because the athletic department is losing support from the fan base. This is so crucial at a time we are needing the exact opposite.
  16. But i look at it this way... Dodges best year of drastic improvement only yielded 2 WINS!!!! hmm something aint right.
  17. We had some serious interest from some quality coaches the last round. We just couldn't afford them. That might be different now.
  18. I don't blame RV for the hire. He tried a project. He tried to find someone for cheap. A lot of people liked the idea. It failed. Let's move on and try to find someone who can get this thing in the right direction.
  19. Oh my lord... how many seasons should we give him to prove some sort of progress?? And I am not talking about just showing progess that we are moving a tad bit away from the hole he put us in. We aren't winning any more games... He is doing what we hired him for. He can't retain the players he brings in, he can't coach a complete game, he can't game manage, he doesn't teach his players how to stop making the same mistakes, he can't make correct calls. I have no doubt he can be a solid coach... but not head coach. Not now. we need someone who can really move this thing in the right direction.
  20. With this logic, it is NEVER the coaches fault. Anything that happens in the game is squarely on the shoulders of the players. The coach selects the personel, the plays, game management, and game plan. He shouldn't be responsible for everything. Especially when there is a one time occurance. But, good lord, it has become an expectation for every game. Eventually, it falls on the coaches shoulders. After a few years, and same ol' same ol'... it falls on him. I struggle with excuses. This is the easiest schedule we have had in over 10 years.
  21. Many players have a lot of confidence in tune.
  22. Oh, i see what you mean. yeah, he might be better at WR for this year... with the hope of him moving out next year or two. I can see that being a good thing. And, to the person who suggest that R. Dodge is as good as we have right now... We do have a player in Tune who can throw quite well beyond 20 yards.
  23. no. he had 4. 3 int's and 1 fumble.
  24. I don't mind seeing Riley at QB. And i certainly don't want to lose him like others may suggest. But, i don't think he should have been playing this year. At least, after the first 4 or 5 games i felt that way. I feel sorry for Meager who got benched for doing a lot less. Tune seemed to be a much better passer to compliment dunbar's ability. Sadly, we didn't have a qb this year who go connect over 20 yards.
  25. My thoughts exactly. Interesting that R.Dodge gave up his common 3-5 turnovers a game. he is keeping up with his quota.
