I remember in the late 90's or early 2000's that they made a pretty good campaign for pro-business and practically the entire board was "pro-business". I don't know if that has changed but I would be surprised if it has. But, the simple fact is, why does Denton projects consistently fail or stall while other cities progress without problems. I.E. Highland Village, Frisco, Keller, McKinney and Allen.

As The World Turns - Ca Recruit Denied Smu Admission
Travis replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I think this thread is funny because it seems that there are alot of people frustrated at the smu admin and not impressed that they are actually holding to certain academic standards. If they want higher standards for all their students then i think it is a great thing. Especially since I know so much about the trust fund babies and athletes that get in the school that really wouldn't do well at any junior college much less SMU. So I am happy that academics are more of a priority than athletics. -
Greatness. Pure greatness!

I sure hope the 7 game win standard that was set after last season remains. I keep hearing the idea of lowering it and that doesn't sit well with me.

I don't understand the UNT/SMU thing either. It isn't truly about the same market because SMU would LOVE to be in the same conference as TCU. I see it as that la tech and SMU are threatened by their neighbors. They are afraid of their neighbor rising above them.
-
Do they see ULM as a threat? Are they scared that ULM can pass them by because of conference affiliation? I fail to see the problem.

What is stopping La Tech from joining the Sun Belt?

It's Only Going To Get Tougher For The Wac To Play Up
Travis replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
This is one of several reasons why I don't understand who would actually want to consider going into this conference. -

Even though no one has ever won the world cup with a foreign coach, 3 teams with foreign coaches did make the finals. I would settle for a world cup final. -
Wac Expansion Candidates Are Ranked/rated

Spector has done very well during the confederations cup and through qualifications. He has proven his worth in the past and has done well for us. -

I am not sure what you guys see in Gomez for the starting role over Buddle. He has a decent shot but is young and isn't the smartest player. That is why he was pulled from the Algeria game at half (just like Torres in the game before). Buddle does some great stuff off the ball that Gomez seems not able to do (positioning, defending, drawing out the D). Buddle, Torres, Stewart, Bornstein are all great players when we are using them in the role they are made for right now. They are best used as reserves for the better players. Give them some years and they could be special for our team. The only thing that really bothered me out of Buddle in the Algeria game was when he was near-side post with the ball at the end of the game and had no one on him and just gave the ball away right in front of the goal. Outside of that, I feel his play has been more than adequate. I am not sure what to think of Findley, though I trust him more than I do Gomez. All are decent players, but I think the Forwards are the weakest unit we have on the team. So you could make a decent arguement for any one of our forwards (including the ones who didn't make the final roster, i.e. Ching) to take a starting role. The good news is we have a relatively young team and I look forward to what the future holds because of it. -
this is the wierdest most inconsistent rankings I have ever seen. A facilities ranking that includes fan support and location as key factors. love it!

I would start Findley over Gomez. I would actually start buddle over findley, but thats just me. Gomez is young and "not ready" for a starting role. I really super-duper doubt that Bradley will start Gomez the rest of the time for the world cup. He subbed him out for that simple reason that he isn't ready for such a big role yet. He is great coming off the bench and that is where he should stay. Buddle is a solid player and I expect him to get a lot of playing time. Bradley likes Findley because of his speed but I am not convinced that he should be the guy to compliment Altidore. I say put in Buddle. By the way, Altidore isn't that great, IMO. But, his size and power is excellent against most Defenses. I like your midfield set up with Stewart and Benny as possible subs. As for D, I wish Spector would get in there instead of Bornstein. I like his play. He is great. He makes my soccer pants go crazy. -

Since I work with the current students and deal with them daily. I will be happy to tell you why they don't go to the games. It is because we aren't good and they don't care to watch a bad team. They don't care who our opponent is more than they want to see us destroy them. And we don't. So they don't come out. That is the one constant I hear from students.

Nope. Definitely not with USU and UTSA.
