the only other belt game i have been to away is monroe. Their stadium is horrible. It just looks goofy the way it is set up. I can't imagine ours being like ASU. Though, i have never been there, the pictures make the two stadiums completely different in appearance. Without a doubt, ours will be the best stadium in the belt. We will have the number 1 facilities rank, imo.

I have lived in Denton for 27 years and I am not a fan. I find it poorly planned and poorly utilized. The infrastructure could be much better.

11 years ago Frisco was nothing but fields and farm land. All of that came from nuthin'. After the mall everything popped up around it. I don't attribute that all to being near Plano. Because that doesn't explain why all other wealthier/ highly concentrated cities don't have this stuff coming up. Also, the Frisco boom was before 121 improvement/extension and the Dallas tollway extension. I attribute this to Frisco doing something right more than anything else.

I remember in the late 90's or early 2000's that they made a pretty good campaign for pro-business and practically the entire board was "pro-business". I don't know if that has changed but I would be surprised if it has. But, the simple fact is, why does Denton projects consistently fail or stall while other cities progress without problems. I.E. Highland Village, Frisco, Keller, McKinney and Allen.

I think this thread is funny because it seems that there are alot of people frustrated at the smu admin and not impressed that they are actually holding to certain academic standards. If they want higher standards for all their students then i think it is a great thing. Especially since I know so much about the trust fund babies and athletes that get in the school that really wouldn't do well at any junior college much less SMU. So I am happy that academics are more of a priority than athletics.

I sure hope the 7 game win standard that was set after last season remains. I keep hearing the idea of lowering it and that doesn't sit well with me.

I don't understand the UNT/SMU thing either. It isn't truly about the same market because SMU would LOVE to be in the same conference as TCU. I see it as that la tech and SMU are threatened by their neighbors. They are afraid of their neighbor rising above them.

Do they see ULM as a threat? Are they scared that ULM can pass them by because of conference affiliation? I fail to see the problem.

What is stopping La Tech from joining the Sun Belt?

This is one of several reasons why I don't understand who would actually want to consider going into this conference.
