  1. Haha!! NO!!! I wouldn't go inside Tiger Stadium even if I had a bullet proof vest and a gallon of everclear. It's not that I don't want to go on a road trip one time without being in the band and it's not that I don't love the Mean Green. But damn, I am not setting foot near Tiger Stadium. I'll drink that gallon of everclear from the comforts of my room. Now, where's that gallon????
  2. Ummm, I assume the D he is talking about is the defense. And in that case, is he watching the same games we have been? Granted on 7 out of 10 plays the D isn't like the 2002 defense, but hell at least on some plays they have shown some brilliancy. The OC is horrible. 'Nuf said.
  3. I admit you cannot blame Coach Dickey entirely for the lackluster results this year. The Coach can only motivate so much and a$$ kick so much. The players have to do the rest. I think both parties are to blame for the results. Remember, this sport is not a "coaching" sport or an individual sport. It is a team sport that involves both players and coaches. The Mean Green will not be successful if only one part is doing what they are supposed to. So instead of taking punches at Coach Dickey, remember this is a GROUP effort sport.
  4. I think that it is really disgusting that the team can't appreciate the fans that watch them play. Win or lose, they should at the VERY least is to wave to the fans and acknowledge them. Yes, it sucks to lose. But that gives them no right to be ungrateful.
  5. Man, I wish that we could our hands on Gary DeLoach again. Granted he is a defensive coordinator and there is no way he is leaving UCLA to come back to UNT, but I would to have him at the helm.
  6. I noticed that they turned their backs at the Tulsa game too. I don't care if they win by 50 or lose by 100, they owe it to their fans and friends to stay for the Alma Mater. Especially at home. On the road, I can halfway understand not staying, but at home STAY FOR THE ALMA MATER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The alma mater is one minute and 15 seconds long. They can afford to give that much time back to the fans.... This subject has really made me upset both now and in the past. There is no excuse that the coaches and players cannot do this for the fans.
  7. I say that if USC beats UCLA and UT wins out (with 1-2 more blowout wins), then there is no way USC goes into the National Championship game ranked #1 IMHO. If this above scenario plays out, it will be UT vs. USC for the title. I don't think that Penn St. will finish undefeated (they'll lose one along the way). Here is how the top 5 will finish in my opinion (in order): Texas Southern Cal Georgia Florida Michigan State
  8. Personally I would love to see a packed Fouts and a win. But I think the only thing we MIGHT have a chance at is a win. We won't pack Fouts or get anywhere close to that. I won't even be there. (and you know that I don't miss games)...DAMN NIGHT CLASSES!
  9. Wow, glad someone else noticed that our O-line is pretty much nonexistent......
  10. Attendance will be dismal. First, it is on a weekday at 6:30. If it was later, we might be able to get more people after work. But to have people come from Dallas for a 6:30 game is pushing it. Second of all, there are night classes going on at UNT. Midterms are approaching so students aren't going to be able to skip. I know I won't be there at the Troy game because of this very reason. This will mark the first time EVER as a student that I will miss a home game. Third of all, we have gotten blown out for 2 of our 3 games. For the causal fan, that will be an excuse to miss. TV or no TV, the attendance will be bleak. Sorry to be a pessimist, but it's reality.
  11. Do you like the unis and why???
  12. DD HAS to answer our questions this week. There is no more beating around the bush. We have been outscored 108-9 the past two weeks. I don't care if we were playing UT and OU in back to back weeks. We have to be able to be competitive in OOC games. We may not win depending on who we play but we should be able to be competitive which we aren't. It's time we face the music......
  13. Congrats to you guys. I can't wait until what Reid can do when he arrives to UNT in the year 2023 or 2024.
  14. Here's to good match between the Mean Green and the Wildcats. May the best team win!!!
  15. Wow, Nick makes me proud. He is a great athlete and gets his stuff done in the classroom. WAY TO GO NICK!!!
  16. Well, I still think that the O-line fell down on the job even though they were out numbered. That is just my opinion!!!
  17. If the O-Line can gel, then I think we will explode on yards. J-Mo will start producing and Cobbs can continue what he is doing. And of course Johnny "I Make Next to Impossible Catches" Quinn can chip in as well. But I agree Cobbs is doing quite well. But my plea is this. COME ON O-LINE!! START BLOCKING AND START BLOCKING NOW!!! That is all...I am done!
  18. I didn't see them Saturday and haven't seen them much on the board lately.....
  19. You summed up everything very well Emmitt.
  20. Does anyone know the extent of his injuries????? I know we can't lose him. He is only of like a handful of returning starters on defense............
  21. J-Mo goes for 175 yds. Cobbs goes for 125 yds. Attendance is 24,700 as people will be enthused about a 1-0 start and good weather. UNT 31 TU 17 GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
  22. New homecoming date is November 19 still against ULM.
  23. Not sure of the number in the GB this year. I do know that the new uni's are SWEET!!!! A huge improvement over the previous uni's. And as far as a halftime show is concerned, the songs that I keep on hearing mentioned are: Rhapsody in Blue, Blue Shades, and Niagra Falls something or rather. Can't wait to hear what the band sounds like on Saturday!!!!!
  24. I can see both sides to the argument. It is a fun tradition that has started recently, but would you like to go around and pick all of those up afterwards especially if we did a lot of scoring??? I think that the reasoning behind banning the tortillas is the mess (since we are not the ones who clean up even though we enjoy the action of throwing) and to get us ready for the new stadium since we won't have a track to buffer it.
