  1. I didn't think it was a big deal, until Hardaway opened his mouth. He just dug himself into a hole and as far as I care he could be buried in sh*t for comments like that. He has been a torch bearer for UTEP bball since he walked the court in Minerdome, and it'll be interesting to see what the Miner faithful say about all this. perhaps Hardaway just determined how the current NBA players are going to react.
  2. wait I'm confused. I'm not sure which activity is more exciting. Give me some beer, a couple .25 cent hot dogs and they both (baseball and paint drying) do the same for me.
  3. Oh c'mon we know who you're talking about, why not refer to him by name?
  4. rofl no. DD would have taken the opportunity to befriend him, then tell him that we need to approach the war on terrorism with more caution. Go in to keep it close then hope we come out unscathed.
  5. Some things to think about. I'm not saying I don't like the idea. But these are the first things that come to mind: - The way a lot of the alumn left the band that I was in, you'd have to pay them to suit up and march in the Texas heat again. Most members are in it because it's a MuED requisite, not because they love it as much as I did...or Debbie. In fact, it got pretty tense in a "talk to the Dean" day I recall where a few Brigaders stood up and wanted him to explain why they had to do 3 seasons of such a grueling schedule for only 1 credit hour each semester. - How many would actually show up? They do alumni band for homecoming here @ UTEP and you'll see anywhere from 20 - 40 people show up any given year. - I like the idea (free games for me!), but I'd like to hear some more opinions about it. How about this idea: a high school night for the Green Brigade... - invite a high school band from the area to sit in the stands and play with the GB. The teens would absolutely eat it up. - you wouldn't be restricted to just one week. You could pick as many games as you can stand the kids, and choose from any of the bands not just in Denton but in the metroplex. LOTS of options and plenty of recruiting going on there for the music dept. - alumni band might bring in, what, 50 people? A high school band would bring in 150 - 200 kids + families that might have never come to a game otherwise. - I never understood why this wasn't done. It seems the idea was thrown around a few times but no one ever followed through. Maybe Mr. Williams has already heard it and had to put it on hold for various reasons. -gm
  6. I looked it up in the internet. It's there, I swear. I just forgot the page number.
  7. I'll be cheering for the team/organization that fires Selig. On the college level, I have no favs but it always makes me smile to see Rice win as much as they do.
  8. Well, to state the obvious: if the offense is moving the ball consistently then the defense is getting time to rest and be coached on the sideline. Going 3-and-out every series doesn't help at all.
  9. I never made that connection. Funny thing is, considering he chose Phillips after this whole process I'm not so convinced he would have picked Marty anyways.
  10. Purely hypothetical here, and I mean hype-o-thetical: What if Vizza excels in the Spring, shows he's the future BUT he's not the best option for the next season. So we redshirt him. There's no such thing as unhealthy QB competition, but if that all panned out would Riley still be our number 1 recruit (whether or not he really would be)? I'm just not so sold on Riley like the majority here seem to be. Good kid, proven winner. But I think a lot will be said this coming year when he plays under a coach that's not his dad.
  11. Perhaps now that he's in-the-know, he'll send one or two of his minions to spy on us?
  12. emmitt01?
  13. Whatever happened to the Mark Cuban rumors?
  14. Stop beating a dead horse about this thread being moved. The admins see it, and it will happen. Just let them decide when to act on it. Instead of repeatedly doggin on it and thus bringing it to the top of the thread list, how about sending them a private message and asking what they are gonna do about it?
  15. Now THAT is a great name for a lineman. Put him at tackle right next to a guy named Frankenstein and the media would eat it up.
  16. Buddy Jesus. Don't forget the big ol' thumbs up.
  17. Dang he hasn't even committed yet. Are you Riley?
  18. Speaking of which, where's the link to buy it? Don't forget that Cobbs, the year before, was just as magical. Watching Galbreath in the 2002 NO Bowl was awesome.
  19. Even better. Joined 2/5.
  20. fool's ballz the devil, Bobby!
  21. You ALWAYS win! What is this game? "I win!" Damn you Scuba Steve!
  22. something-Pepper. He has a Ph.D, so address him properly. ...or is that a Us.B?
  23. In Internet Relay Chat?
