  1. bump WOW! lots of guest. C'mon folks and register with gmg.com.
  2. not at all. TD is a class act and it is not in his interest at all what the old regime did. He'll want to preserve traditions and set new ones that are in the best interest of the program's future and the fans. I think the blog said that the Green/White game date was set in respect to a contractual obligation that Fouts already had with another event. I thought DD's Spring practice dates were unique to him. That was then and this is now.
  3. Chris Davis was one of the most fluid players I've ever seen. There's a guy named Beasly @ USM that reminds me of him. Hard to believe they're having record crowds over in College Station...for BBall games. Congrats to Gillespie and those Ags for turning it around so quickly.
  4. Good suggestions. I like the idea about the drum heads. I don't think there's anything wrong about putting our call or name on the drum heads, but do it WITH the Yamaha logo. They might have a problem with us taking their name off. In many major Colleges of Music, particularly a highly regarded and respected one such as ours in Denton, the school instruments are contractual. All UNT grands are Steinway & Sons, and I would suspect that this is no different with Yamaha and the drumline equipment. Sponsorships and contracts like these usually stipulate that the brand name be visible in public.
  5. nm. hmmm...a little too much to drink last night!

  7. We can't force people to take their change from the HS buckets and put it into UNT athletics. We take care of our stuff, and everything will come our way. Allowing the high schoolers to put out some buckets for small donations doesn't hurt us at all. I think it's great. Not sure what you're suggesting. How would taking away their booths/buckets really help our own athletics funding?
  8. Unnecessary post of the week. Sorry Plumm, I don't recall any apparent "organized voting coalition" amongst College of Music students. We hardly knew of what the general opinion was and, in fact, I knew many that were in support of the "athletic-oriented referendum". The voting took place and if there was any level of a voting coalition, is was done on the qt at higher levels. Sometimes I tire of the implications that there is a College of Music vs. Athletics thing going on here, but I understand why it lingers. I speculate that athletics biggest adversary in DFW is apathy. What if a lot of students voted "no" just because they didn't care, and not because they were actually opposed? If Dodge gets a couple of great seasons under his/our belts, I bet it'd be easy as pie to get the vote to go through upon a second chance.
  9. "So this is a Yale shower? I thought there'd be equations and shit on the walls."
  10. link Will Dodge look at this kid?
  11. Maybe the one kid that didn't reach in. Or down. whatever applies.
  12. It should be a requisite that all newbies be forced to eat crow and read the "I like pizza" thread before posting.
  13. ? I pray to God that this does not become justification for thuggery (for lack of a better term). I do have a problem with fighting, even if nobody is seriously hurt. I'm going to support this team no matter what. It doesn't take a dunk to get me going, but I understand that this is supposed to be entertainment for a lot of you all. Rubbing things in at the expense of the opposition's dignity is not way to go about this. Sometimes it works against you. Miami @ Louisville, anyone? anyone?
  14. You missed his point. We all know that, as it stands right now, A&M is a more highly regarded football program in the eyes of the media and Average Joe Football Fan. It's just that this "no way" quip you shoot out implies that if 10 players are offered scholllies to play at UNT and A&M, then every single one of them defaults to an Aggie because of this supposed status difference. Remember the day before you began to get to know your wife? Say you know her as well as you know Rachel Ray right now. You're not going to choose (marry) Ray JUST because she makes a better meal, are you? These kids get to know the program, get to see the beautiful metroplex, an opportunity to play immediately...and suddenly it's a match made in heaven.
  15. It baffles me that another major (D-1) Texas football program fan thinks UNT is still D-1AA, or non-D1...w/e I guess some people don't follow football outside their own conference.
  16. ugh...why's it always gotta be a rap track :/
  17. EP Times Don't tell me that it's different because Arizona has had some coaching changes. IT'S NOT. How much longer in Aggie land will a coach last if they aren't winning the Big XII? Thank God Brown won the title game in '06. I wonder how many people would be calling for his head if he blew it. ***EDIT well yeah. That too.
  18. Better than Darrel Daniels of gmg.com fame?
  19. Considering the nature of DD's offense, any one of those QB's we've had could've been the greatest "in hiding". God knows what Wilson or Meager could have waiting in the wings with the proper tutelage. Scott Hall separated himself by executing it [the offense] as well as anyone could: minimal mistakes, hitting the play actions, and great pocket awareness. Long live Scott Hall.
  20. I don't like the idea of a kelly green hat. That's just my personal preference; however, as the official branding color it should be available for others who do like it. I prefer darker colored lids.
