  1. Probably not if they're trying to relocate.
  2. Speaking of the Goldstein donation, does anyone KNOW where that money is going to? Campaign? Feasibility? Pigs with bucks? Bueller? anyone...
  3. apples vs. oranges? This is a district facility that implies it's shared by all the Carroll schools (Carroll High, Carroll Senior High, and the feeders). Why don't we ask the Sun Belt for a facility to share between us and the LA schools so that we can say our facilities compete with UT's?
  4. It's also a reality that a pig could randomly slip through the doors with a buck up his butt, and somebody would snatch it to buy a soda. The point is that we are actually pushing for it, and that there are people out there with pockets deep enough to make it happen. You're absolutely right about one thing: take care of what we have now and things will fall into place. Here's hoping it's sooner rather than later! You may choose to leave the glass on the table, but I'll admit to drinking the Green Koolaide this time because I want to believe it when some people so high up in our administration are promising something within the next 5 years. I realize that it may mean that it will take some luck the next 2-3 years, and then factor in a couple years of construction (okay okay, I'm ignorant: how long would a 40K seat stadium take to build?). I'm going to be a Mean Green fan no matter what, so why not add fuel to the green flames, instead of being such a pessimist? If they don't get this done in 5 or 10 years, by then we'll have another shake up in staff and we'll give it another go. I know many of you have been with the program much longer than I and suffered through some miserable administration, so I can understand the hesitation. But don't rub it off on us newer generations. What good does that do? kinda like the old coaching regime's "we're just going to go into the opponent's stadium and hope that we can hang around until the end, and come out uninjured.".... ...sounds a lot like a description of some of the fans around here.
  5. sssshhhh, quiet! We can't have any facts laid out. We don't want to eliminate any debates about what's REALLY happening with the stadium. I must have my rumors! and negative "reality" posters that don't really serve any purpose!
  6. I wonder how much Baylor is missing those 6-5 years? Speaking of the Bears.... *cough*
  7. wow. Who needs to let it go? Check yourself.
  8. Where the heck are people getting that SLC's facilities are better than our's? You can mock on Fouts all you want, but doesn't Dragon stadium seat less than 13K?
  9. The video would just motivate me as a player to get up and "ride the horns" again. Dodge will implement a completely different gameplan for this team that will include terms such as "gang tackling", "pursuit", and "wrapping up your tackle" that were not demonstrated in this video. The lack of said terms made that video look like a pin-ball game the way the UT players were running around with the ball.
  10. Super Bowl/CF Championship are interchangeable to me if I don't know the teams, but CF gets the edge because of the pageantry of college football over the "MTV-ness" (for lack of a better term) of the SB. If UNT or UTEP made a bowl game, that would probably be my preferred choice, though it's not on the list.
  11. I'll take it! and a good Sarsaparilla, Stranger. I like your style, man. Got a whole cowboy thing goin'.
  12. The vid when she sang sweet child of mine with the band? That's the only one I'm familiar with but don't remember anyone following her on stage.
  13. their argument still stands. On one hand, we're coming off the past two seasons, we're not BCS, so - yes - we're in no position to turn away players. Heck, NEVER turn away players. More QBs for the pickin', sure. But to say that we NEED Riley is premature. That implies that UNT is going to fail without him. I just don't believe that.
  14. I think you need to stop drinking that panhandle water.
  15. The whole "taking over a game" beef seemed to work well for Wade last year. Simmons is one of my favorite reads over at espn.com. Here's an excerpt from a write-up he did right before the Heat turned it around and won it all: Here's the link that used to work. Looks like it's gone dead. If it's gone Insider, maybe someone could verify it. If that's the case, I - or an admin - will probably have to remove it. FWIW, it was not subscription-based when I accessed it.
  16. I agree it's great for reconnecting with the alumns, which is needed. But don't completely discount a high school night. That might bring in future alumns.
  17. I think it's a lot easier to say we should have gotten rid of DD now that we have someone as hyped as TD. But TD would not have been available then. Who do you speculate would have been the hire had that been the case? Doesn't really matter, I suppose. But I wanted to add a reply that was less than 500 words. Quoner, I think you've set your own record. Congrats.
  18. bleh. already posted.
  19. DO IT. and let the English see you do it.
  20. The Japanese guy that holds the record for hotdogs downed in like 10 minutes? No one should miss that.
  21. This would double attendance. Someone needs to get this to RV. Why wasn't this thought of sooner?
  22. I didn't think it was a big deal, until Hardaway opened his mouth. He just dug himself into a hole and as far as I care he could be buried in sh*t for comments like that. He has been a torch bearer for UTEP bball since he walked the court in Minerdome, and it'll be interesting to see what the Miner faithful say about all this. perhaps Hardaway just determined how the current NBA players are going to react.
  23. wait I'm confused. I'm not sure which activity is more exciting. Give me some beer, a couple .25 cent hot dogs and they both (baseball and paint drying) do the same for me.
  24. Oh c'mon we know who you're talking about, why not refer to him by name?
  25. rofl no. DD would have taken the opportunity to befriend him, then tell him that we need to approach the war on terrorism with more caution. Go in to keep it close then hope we come out unscathed.
