  1. Everyone relax. We can’t go 13-1 unless we lose a game. 🤘
  2. Caponi has been our DC for 15 games. Even after wins, the concern has been there.
  3. Lane Kiffin is a better example than anyone you mentioned. Tom Herman was a disaster at FAU, and Charlie Strong was shown the door at USF. A lot of success stories are tied to specific recruits, too. SL and Fine. Traylor and Frank Harris. I don't have an answer to this, just pointing out that for an aspiring G5 program like UNT, it's really really hard to find the coaches that can win consistently at our level. There isn't a formula you can apply, or set of questions to use in the interviews. And if a G5 is lucky enough to snag a guy that fits and succeeds., he probably doesn't see that G5 school as a long term option.
  4. Unlike HS recruits, I have zero idea how the coaching world outside of Denton views our HC position. Right now I would say, any coach will look at the same dynamics no matter where you are in the state or country: 1) Is the administration on your side? 2) Are you given resources/facilities that are on par with the people you are trying to beat? So, I would be optimistic about this. Any coach sees us as a big opportunity. Just had some bad luck and bad admin in our history. The current admin and resources check all the boxes.
  5. Look at all these fancy offenses around CFB racking up 60+ point games. Want to separate yourself from the pack and rise above, into a 'ship? Learn to play defense, smack them in the mouth, and watch how they melt when they can't figure out how to score more than 2 TDs.
  6. McCarney was an accomplished FBS coach. I don't see us getting what I think you mean: someone that is still somewhat young and hungry for more. Accomplished HC (G5 or P5 accomplished HC), while still being their late-30s to early 50s of age, are going to be coaching well above UNT. I think we are going to keep looking at assistants that were successful at what they do, and hungry to prove themself as a HC. Or, guys like Carthel: accomplished HC at lower level that would gladly take the step up to a Power/Group school HC position. Morris fits the above and proves that even that is not guaranteed, right?
  7. I'm tired of sitting on bad hires for X number of seasons after they should have been fired. Tired of sitting on bad coordinators when they can be swapped out mid season. Wrong hires happen! Humans make mistakes! But, man! We aren't sitting at the bottom of the Sun Belt's budget list anymore. These assistants shouldn't be bathing in these salaries while their units sit at the bottom of the national statistics.
  8. Tell the D they can have it back when they can hold opponents to less than 30. That'd be a start. Even better if less than 20.
  9. This message board has been around for 20+ years. Just curious, and thought this was okay to bring up publicly: what has member growth looked like? Can/do you see these stats? Random questions I thought about: How does recent growth compare to the Sun Belt era? We have thousands of grads entering the world every year. Have member numbers increased in line with that, or do you see it stall?

  10. I thought there was a central distribution service? Just give them your audio and they spit it out into all the feeds.
  11. Hell yeah, Dickey! I always felt like he was cool cool with everything in Mean Green land EXCEPT Villarreal.
  12. We probably won't sell out the next game.
  13. Thanks to one game! Give the guy a break lol #Carthel'd
  14. I'll add to this, it looks like Morris is 2nd in the nation in total offense, regardless of transfer/status. Image is a clickable link:
  15. Who nationally are you referring to? I see a UNT account announcing some national stats.
  16. thinks of you? Exactly who are we dealing with in Coach Bill Lewis?
  17. I love this. Morris did it last year but it got buried underneath a bad season. Keep winning and this thing will be fire! BTW, we won 2 games to close out 2023. So, we are on a 4 game winning streak.
  18. Love the branding from back then, but hell no to the name.
  19. I figured out pretty quickly that connectivity sucks when you put a ton of people together in a stadium. If you get good reception, you are in luck.
  20. I am not sure you are talking about the same thing I was. I was referring to the same radio station's presence on-air and on internet: they aren't always the same. KNTU is a great example: they used to have the game via Internet while their 88.1 FM presence - at the exact same time - was music/programming. So, if we're talking about pre-game on the Eagle, make sure we are all on the same page regarding which Eagle broadcast we are referring to.
  21. A station's over-the-air and internet-stream broadcasts are not guaranteed to be mirrors of each other. This has been the case for a few years now, IIRC. I think it is something to do with the Varsity Network contracts.
  22. 8 AAC programs also have men's soccer. I don't have an answer. Just wondering what the true problem is. My curiosity wishes I could see all the AAC membership schools, and what sports they offer outside of the bigger three (FB, MBB, WBB). Could be all over the map, or possibly reveal something I am not thinking of. That would take too much time to put together, though.
