  1. mmmk. I went ahead and look at box scores via meangreenathletics.com. Just to clarify and make my point, he is listed as starting almost everygame, playing in all of them but 1 or 2 (Texas being one of them that he doesn't play at all). Considering he played in 04 and then during the last two years, I think one has to look at other factors and not dwell on the past two seasons' results. ps: Mavs are up by 13 right now! Keep it up!
  2. How long did he start? If he was on either of the two previous season's lines that paved the way for rushing titles, I wouldn't blame the last two years on him.
  3. WAC 2007 Spring Game Recaps
  4. He could be great for the NFL: probably knows a thing or two about downfield blocking.
  5. ugh. wtf? Can anything go wrong for the Warriors? Please? Hit one more shot at the buzzer. make my day :/
  6. Slobberbone was one of my great memories of Denton. And it was at their farewell concert weekend at Dan's Silverleaf that I first heard Will Johnson and Centro-matic. I can't believe I didn't hear them (Centro) until AFTER I left Denton. Right now I relive it all through my Slobberbone cds and now The Drams and Centro. Best wishes to WJ, Brent Best and crew. I need to check more into the Baptist Generals. Everytime I head back for a visit I grab something from the local bin. I'm amazed at how good the stuff is, despite my random/ignorant choices. A couple examples of groups I found that way (and bought for my sis, too) are Brave Combo and Snarky Puppy. The latter is really hitting it off. They just opened this past Monday at the Granada Theater for Victor Wooten. I'll stop there. I could go on forever about Denton/UNT music.
  7. OMG I really did laugh out loud with that one. Thanks Dub.
  8. Who said dynasty? We're just dreaming about going dancing again next year. e-bone: I thought there was a new rule allowing any team that won their regular season title but lost in the conference tournament was granted an invitation to the NCAA? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
  9. Why would we turn away a multi-million dollar gift? Thankfully, I don't think Cuban would ask us to name it after his bball team. It would be named after something else. I think this was brought up about 6 months ago when it was said that the Mavs were allowed to use UNT facilities for a camp/off-season stuff. If true, we're probably in Cuban's good regards.
  10. I don't know what effort you read about. I read more effort put into this board about DD updates than anything specific JJ has done to secure the contract. All I saw were threads debating what kind of extension he should get, and then him showing up to the banquet that announced his extension. Wanna elaborate for me, because of my own ignorance, what efforts JJ put forward to getting the 5 year extension?
  11. You're recalling the comments made regarding the WR coverage @ meangreenathletics.com. Dodge was referring to the WR's in general, not just incoming recruits. From the story: They can't be improving in our offense if they're still in high school.
  12. It never said small-time to me. Seems like a great venue for the Greeks to advertise themselves. If the wooden letters are taken away, then some other way should be introduced.
  13. Not meant to be a knock, but it does strike me that the band makes it out to the Bball banquet, but not a Spring Football game that is attended by 5,000+?
  14. I thought you might want to see what else this guy is selling (TONS more. This is just a few): Florida Gator's 4-4 Defensive Football Playbook (LQQK) 1975 Alabama Bear Bryant Offensive Football Playbook 2001 Nick Saban LSU Defensive Football Playbook (LQQK) 1995 Florida Gator's Offensive Football Playbook (LQQK) 1998 Virginia Tech Defensive Football Playbook (LQQK) 1996 University of Wyoming Offensive Football Playbook 1993 Bill Walsh's Stanford Offensive Football Playbook 1999 Texas A & M Univ. Defensive Football Playbook 1995 Norm Chow BYU Offensive Football Playbook (LQQK) I don't know what to think of this. All of the auctions mention this at the bottom:
  15. Football teams need 44 players to go 2 deep on both sides of the ball. It isn't like Memphis is signing the 20 best players out of Memphis and Texas every year. There are still some good player out there. Lets see what JJ has under his sleeve.
  16. We had a great year vs. CUSA, for sure. What's the Belt's record vs. CUSA since '99? Not what the answer is off the top of my head, but I'd still say CUSA would do us better for all sports.
  17. If we were a team that was capable of beating OU, Arkansas, and Troy on the road, then beat Navy at home, the rest of the Belt would be a cakewalk. The Belt is nothing to scream about in football. But it's not horrible enough that people just forget about a team blowing through their schedule. Certainly not a team that made that much noise in OOC. That would be comparable to what Memphis is doing in Bball with wins against Gonzaga, Kentucky, etc...then CUSA. Was Memphis not ranked?
  18. Pantone code: 354 C CMYK: (100, 0, 100, 0) After perusing through images on the net, seems like every manufacturer has their own version of kelly green. why? Some various pictures I have found.
  19. I was told Saban took that title.
  20. You need to watch the rest of the scrimmage. Maeger settled down, got his arm into a groove and looked much better than Wilson down the stretch. I thought WW made some great things happen with his legs, but as the scrimmage progressed you can see the offense really start to gel (even in its watered-down mode) and move. I agree that WW looked better on his first series...down-right impressive. But he couldn't ever get the passing aspect going. Nothing about Tune really stood out to me. I think we're going to head into spring with Maeger, Wilson, and a keen eye on Vizza.
  21. Perhaps he's the one that snapped the photo.
  22. nice!
  23. I wouldn't think their budget, 85 mil or 85 bil, has anything to do with schollies. NCAA rules dicate how many they give (regardless of budget), so I think his honoring of Nader's offer is commendable.
