  1. I think you should pony up the money for a new stadium. The least they could do is change the color of the helmets to your convenience. Or avoid the stickers. That way we'd for sure beat SMU. Because we'd beat them on the long ball. BTW, did you know we're the envy of their marketing department? Which market design do you like better? "It's Wide Open" or "Pony Up"? Tough call... ...Good Lord I'm ready for September 1. pleasepleasehurryhurry
  2. Such a sad irony that I would actually be thrilled to finally get the W over FAU. I'll be letting out a huge sigh of relief the day that arrives.
  3. I don't know about you guys, but I'm to the brim with anticipation for the wristbands. Who's with me? WRISTBANDS WRISTBANDS WRISTBANDS. Oh man, what if they actually reveal the socks? OH THE EXCITEMENT.
  4. Point taken. Just to play a little counter-argument (which I'm guilty of frequently), I don't think it took a genius to identify the playmakers we had on defense during the streak...especially during the 2nd and 3rd year. We had players on that side of the ball that IMO were far and away outplaying Sun Belt opposition. Sure they were 1 and 2 stars, and we were taking our OOC lumps just like the rest of the league, but how many of the other Belters were watching our game against Simms and UT and going, "EIGHT sacks?!". or "they just shut down the first teamers for 2 quarters..." Maybe I'm wearing the green-tinted glasses on that loss, or the TCU game; perhaps someone can refresh me what the rest of the league was doing at that time that could be considered comparable. I agree it wasn't luck. DD can attach his name to the streak, and I'm appreciative towards him for what he did (minimal or not). But our successes were due in large part to DeLoach. The moment he left the decline in our defensive performance was marked and consistent. And we didn't have an offense to compensate for that decline.
  5. You mean act like OSU, FSU, Clemson,.... I don't like like stickers either (I might get used to talon stickers), but the "they are high schoolish" or "lets act I-A" arguments don't really hold water IMO.
  6. Nah, he's just honored to be in the same recruiting wars as UNT.
  7. for sure staying...remodeled? I don't know.
  8. No idea about the alumni, but just wanted to congratulate you on the Ph.D.
  9. Waters is making things happen. 2 years from now we'll be in a contract to play ND if THEY manage to qualify for the BCS bowl. That's the only way I see them earning a spot to play us.
  10. My gosh there's never been such closure. I feel confident now that there won't be any more bashing.
  11. Ieans? Of course! Put Jonathan *cough* Jon *cough* on the field. He'll put The Stallion to shame, and leave Riley in the dust. I can see it now: Rodge riding the bench thinking "At least I could've played in Austin."
  12. 2nd best hijack ever on gmg.com. Keep it rollin'
  13. That sounds consistent with the Northwestern video that was shown/discussed earlier.
  14. That team is as erratic as their coach.
  15. I seem to recall the last time we threw our freshman QB into the fire of Austin, we went on to win a bowl game. While not exactly similar (Andrew was a redshirt and didn't go in until Hall was injured), I have no problem with putting the heat on them right out of the gates.
  16. I thought Utah State ran a spread offense last year?
  17. As did the rest of us. After all, seeing the fall off after Meager made it clear he was the front-runner, and (thankfully) eliminated the need for any off-season QB debates. Phew. Thank God gmg.com was spared those this year. Can you imagine if WW had a case? As if, I mean he only won a game last year all by himself. Obviously, we (and SMU) know better.
  18. Sorry, had to add:
  19. or Plumm on his way to another 9K
  20. T.D. is Terry T.D. Parks (link) North Texas Hall Of Fame
  21. I spoke too soon. You're absolutely correct: in light of the previous two years he hasn't earned this. I meant to say I'm hoping that he returns to freshman form and gets on the Sun Belt team that counts: the post-season votes.
