  1. Maybe you weren't here during the Dickey losses? Pardon us for being excited about the future.
  2. '02 Nichols State, anyone? GROSS
  3. Love that Todge quote!..I missed it, was it post-game radio? please address the defense, Todge! I know they can do better
  4. I didn't get the impression that he was pumping his fist in the air, as if triumphing some huge victory. He's just sayin'. When you're a SMU right now, you look for any positive you can get.
  5. Wow, I never realized Ford was that gorgeous. When did they build that thing? I don't think it's the same stadium I marched in as a Marching Miner in '97. I hope we continue the series with them so that place fills up completely.
  6. Let's not forget the former walkon:
  7. via ESPN: c'mon Mitch, I know you're jealous.
  8. Jordan Palmer actually used his time as starting QB @ UTEP to teach the El Pasoans this very thing. When 40+ thousand people are so in the game and want to see the offense score, it can get kinda loud lol You've seen how defenses will extend their arms all the way out, with the palms up, and flap them like birds to get the crowd pumped. I remember many times Palmer's junior and early senior year he'd pull away from the center, extend his arms out and flap them but with his palms DOWN....telling the crowd to be quiet. Price made a comment about it in a couple of his post game radio shows. Very friendly and respective (one of the nicest/funnest coaches to follow out there) and, low and behold, by the end of Palmer's senior campaign (and, so far so good this year with Trevor Vittatoe) we have a hush crowd when UTEP is on O. It's amazing how fast word of mouth can be.
  9. We could've. But he decided not to be a part of it.
  10. I don't recall even Hawaii's Brenham tossing for 600 yards last season. f'n insane.
  11. Now if we could only get some UNT fans and students to stop wearing their UT/TTech shirts. Glad to hear some positives about the band.
  12. After watching Vizza play against OU and Riley in the highlight vids, I'm of the opinion (maybe I'm wrong when I see some good footage of him?) that Riley is going to need to work on his long ball and arm strength of he wants to overcome Vizza. And I don't think that has anything to do with coverage/college-highschool differences. Vizza's arm just looks flat out better right now than anything I've seen from Rodge.
  13. ding.
  14. Was that E. Sanders? He's a good player.
  15. Be careful what you ask for.
  16. The DD references are getting cliche, and kinda wrong. Say what you want about him, but for a while he had his bottled lightning that refused to lose and never curled in adversity. If you take shots at him, maybe some of those guys are taking it personally? just sayin....
  17. I marched 6 years. ALways had a few guys in the flag corps. Sometimes the dance team, too.
  18. So he needed to be perfect to satisfy you guys. nice. From a 79-10 loss to 600+ yards, 60+ attempts, and the greatest receiving performance in school history. Nice. Would you like your bill ironed? Find more to be pickey about. Fine. But don't ever be happy about improvement. The SMU defense sucked. Bring in Vizza? shush.
  19. where is it? link please
  20. 32 - 7, down to Oregon with 3:00 left in the 1st half. Oregon's spread is making it look easy...in Ann Arbor.
  21. I think the BCS commitment is contractual, so they can't just vote it out? If OU keeps playing this way, it's hard to see them outside the BCS national championship game.
  22. Don't hijack this chant, sir. NORTH
  23. <3 women's soccer
  24. Hey dodgefan, I'm convinced that some people here are just looking for reasons to hate SMU. Don't let it sway you. Although, I think it would fascinate you to hear some of our elder fans tell you what they've had to live through from the Hilltop fans. To say that our perception of SMU is misguided or some sort of illusion that we created would be inaccurate, to say the least. I'll agree, however, that sometimes it gets out of hand. It's been at least at least 6 months, but I do recall some great stories that were shared on the board....stories that go outside any CUSA conspiracy. What RV said is "AD speak"; of course he's not going to point fingers at any institution. It's his job to take care of the things he CAN control, which is better our facilities, improve fan support and communication, etc... I can't wait 'til we can look at SMU and see them as a fantastic regional rival, with the past behind us.
