  1. What if they were throwing tortillas? I think that would be more adult-like.
  2. I still think there is some tough, quality, basketball being played in spots 2-7. USF's consistency is remarkable. ALMOST as remarkable as our Sun Belt football run.
  3. Just my personal 0.02, but I feel like if you've won the NIT, you have played some legit T25 basketball to make that kind of tournament run. Even if it doesn't reflect in the polls.
  4. Man! Kudos to the MWC for climbing their way into a position to have so many bids
  5. I feel like this is a toss up. If the at-large is REALLY GOOD, it could steal their thunder and take an actual title. If we're talking about a 1-loss at-large team that is overmatched against a powerful Georgia team, the SEC/B10 will laugh and welcome it. They can say "look, the system works! The little guys get a chance" while still easily taking a title, tons of money, and increasing the gap. Having a shot at the title is what everyone wants to talk about, but the real problem we want to address is the gap between the haves and have-nots.
  6. The top half of this conference is a blood bath
  7. https://meangreensports.com/news/2024/2/23/mens-basketball-unt-hosts-utsa-saturday
  8. What platforms will this be available on? I'm assuming Playstation and XBox are on this, but want to make sure.
  9. Not gonna dive through all of that, but one poster said Rice went on a 23-1 run. Unreal!
  10. I myself think it's the dirty undies. The laundry. The whites.
  11. Rice blowing out UAB in Alabama is wild to me.
  12. We landed Jamario because we have resources that accommodated his dyslexia. We regressed, but it's not like there is the cavernous divide between our program and TxState's 8-win season. If we were only winning 2-3 games, then I would totally understand a recruit going with Kinne and Co.
  13. I mean, we destroyed Cinci in a bowl game once, and I didn't see CUSA-tier athletes coming to this Sun Belt school. Both of us are right to varying degrees. I just think, for most kids, a full conference slate of AAC teams is cooler than an opportunity to win a ton and be rewarded with....a matchup with Rice.
  14. Pretty sure I saw stats for TP that reflected what he could do with < 5 seconds remaining (shot clock/game/whatever).
  15. One team is in the AAC, the other is not. Some student-athletes think that's a big deal, some do not.
  16. I hate debt, but if you want to have this discussion, then let’s ask the obvious: what is in place in the future that guarantees we would be able to pay it back?
  17. I think people were saying the same about NIL, too. weird to see you speak like you have this all figured out, when you’ve been wrong before. EDIT: not actually weird. Perfectly in line with a resident troll.
  18. Interest/desire is too strong to care about Congress. Lots of "let's get it done and we will figure this out later" movement going on. We'll find out, one way or the other.
  19. What have you read that makes you believe this? I'm talking about a complete split. The B10/SEC will no longer share a playoff/system with the rest of us. Even with some truth, I think that will be short term. A complete split, with zero playoff involvement for the rest of us, is on the horizon.
  20. The P5/G5 talk should start to fizzle as more and more people realize this is B10/SEC...then everyone else. There will be a split. SMU put there best foot forward and got a step closer than us, but in the end it won't matter. What is interesting to me is how the CFB world will treat them knowing what they sacrificed to be in this new position.
  21. Reason I liked this statement: it was sincere, and not coach speak Reason I did not like it: Good coaches find a way to talk about responsibility, for themselves and the players, in a constructive way. I don't fee like he played this well. Any other coach and this would generate more steam, but Pitino will enjoy the benefits that come with his previous successes.
  22. Of note, that I overlooked, UAB enjoyed the benefit of a full week's prep for us. They did not play mid-week. Couple our injury situation with our emotional win over Memphis mid-week, and I think this didn't work in our favor. No excuses though. Let's get some rest and correct what we can.
  23. Ah, okay! I can make that work: https://thevarsitynetwork.com/feed/source/oas-1337?audioPlayer=uabirm%3Aallaccess-Archive-4780 Game ends, they take a commercial break, and the postgame discussion starts @ 2:39:02 mark EDIT: The Lindeborg interview begins at 2:46:45
