  1. When you have millions to burn, is a commitment really needed?
  2. I thought more people would be on board with regional ties, since the P4 are destroying the future of non-P4 as we know it. Apparently, more people are not on board. I'm rethinking this. Here's someone else's take:
  3. bingo. Look at the savagery they put on Oregon after losing to them in round 1. I think they win tonight by multiple TDs. I want to say the same about a win over ND, but ND has proven to be incredibly resilient. Could be a great game.
  4. Today is the first of two more wins for Ohio State.
  5. Pretty sure we used that Forest Green during the Dickey era. I'd just like to see us be very picky about which one we ARE, and be consistent about using it.
  6. I'm guessing that @ColoradoEagle means above and beyond that 152 number. A program that would compete for NCAA bids while in the American. Be very picky, demanding for this invite or don't invite at all.
  7. Good perspective here. Not a business priority but, just in terms of fun it would be great to have. We'd probably be incredibly competitive right out of the gates.
  8. I'm not on board with schools further west than El Paso, for the same reason I don't like that we are living with schools on the east coast. I do agree about your either/or scenario: I would swap them out if I had the option. But my preference: you can do a straight shot north from El Paso and include those CO, NM, and WY schools. But Nevada, CA, Washington? Too far, just like the the east coast schools we currently live with. Can you explain what you mean by "footprint" to media partners? You mean, they want a large geographic representation? How does footprint and time zones translate to more viewership which, I assume, is their top priority. Here's a hypothetical. Any thoughts? Air Force UNM Wyoming UTEP or UTSA SHSU Memphis UNT TxState Tulane UAB Louisiana Tulsa Non-Football Wichita State maybe we go to Grand Canyon U.
  9. Appreciate the insight and agree about how we pick our HS recruits. the potential upside is that he apparently has a Purdue offer, so a solid Power gig thinks highly enough of him, too, to bring him in.

  11. I'm not going to link it here, but you can find the answers in a reply to that Tweet.
  12. Just now remembering CFB was played today. Congrats to ND! I've seen just enough of these games to believe this is the Buckeyes show. I think they win it all.
  13. who else is in discussion besides Memphis?
  14. For sure. I think you'll always have some issues that will be attacked. I think you'll also, with any staff, have some issues that are just tendencies and won't go away. The former, we know that Morris is trying a new DC The latter, for example, I'm not holding my breathe for the QB under center any time soon.
  15. The prestige of the PAC is dead, and @NorthTexasWeLove is right: we are entering an era (if we aren't there already lol) where geography is a much bigger priority for non-Power leagues. I hope we do away with this notion that we should share a G conference with California or Washington schools. It's already a whip that we are in one with schools that sit just off the eastern coast. I don't get the idea of if-Tigers-go-we-need-to-follow. I think it makes more sense to be attached to Texas State than Memphis.
  16. oh man, I thought NET updated automatically. Maybe I'll start putting that screen shot in at the beginning of the game day, instead of evening after games are final.
  17. God help us it is FOREVER until the next game. Memphis will play 2 AAC matchups BEFORE we see our next one.
  18. I see a RB who wanted a scholly, didn't have a ton of options, and was probably attracted to the opportunity to play with a highly rated HS recruit that can tell him stories about Caleb and USC. I don't think these guys are looking at their teammates through the same judgmental, over-analytical lens that we use on gmg.com Also, these guys didn't choose some big school to ride the bench for their dream team. So we don't have to piss on them for that, either.
  19. Not UNT, but y'all should check out the end of the UCONN-Nova game. @CMJ
  20. UTEP just signed QB Malachi Nelson, former USC/Boise St QB. A 5-star out of HS, this is the highest rated recruit in the history of the Miner program, at the most magnetic position in the sport. It might have swayed Porter to go to El Paso.
