Get ready for this when Eric gets canned

How much of this is actually on UMASS? I don't get the impression she was pinning the blame specifically on the school, just pointing out the disparity. -
More national recognition for Mean Green Basketball
greenminer replied to Ross Hodgeson's topic in Mean Green Basketball
This T3 account is obsessed with CBB, watches a ton of it, and knows that this was not a bad loss. MNS will likely repeat what they did last year: win 30 games and get a 12 seed. If we are talking about our NCAAT chances, as long as MNS holds serve, I am not sure how bad this loss will look. When do we start hearing about Quad rankings? https://x.com/T3Bracketology/status/1858743202850738293 -
+1. Or when we actually start winning bowl games. Some of y'all would be loving the Frisco bowl if we were winning big and attendance was filling it up. There's a bit of a chicken-egg argument here when it comes to winning and attendance. Just f'n go. I'm giving you 'til the count of 10 to get y'r ugly, yellow, no-good keester to the games.

Around the League / UNT Opponents
greenminer replied to Censored by Laurie's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Would love to visit this again with some retrospect. Maybe halfway into the AAC schedule, let's look back and see how these OOC teams are doing. And how it stacks up against other OOC schedules. -
Some have their entire college sports view shaped by the convos they get at the watercooler at work, or a small circle of bros that have been beer talkin' over the same 5 conferences (anchored in football) for 20 years. The NET, committees, and them thar advanced metrics be damned.

Most of what I read is, "we cannot afford it".

by Will Wade and, just my 0.02, but this would probably be a 0.500 series if it were multiple games.

McNeese was a 12 seed at the 2024 NCAAT , and kept it within ten @ #2 Alabama last Monday. Prior to McNeese, WilL Wade coached 7 seasons between LSU (5) and VCU. Take out the COVID year, so 6 eligible seasons, and that run includes 1 S16, 2 other R32s, and 2 more NCAATs. The one non-NCAAT year was NIT S16. I haven't really thought much about it, but I imagine Wade is in conversations about best coaches currently at MMs. Like, Top 5.

I miss pre-MAGA/black uni ADLER.

whelp. sucks to lose but maybe MS is a R32 level team.

If you can enjoy watching your team win, it can be fun. If your heart is set on avoiding the game of basketball, okay.

His name glowed while he was at A&M Commerce because 1) He was doing well there, and 2) there was a rumor tossed around that he dreamed of coaching at UNT. He's not doing so hot at SFA right now. I think people need to factor that in and reconsider.

I think we broke a big Wichita State streak a few years ago when we won at the Shockers' place.

Leech tree weakness.

Yep, with a guy who, by previous tenure in Denton, is a legend. Sometimes bad coaches succeed, and a good one fails. College football is weird.

My two cents: this termination was obviously needed, to the painful point where I don't think you need to to see how the fans feel about Caponi.

The "football is football" approach that brought in the DC from Southlake takes the cake for me. Just in terms of bad bad defense. This could be argued much worse, however, because of the financial investment. The Dodge era was the budget-friendly move. This era is not. We paid Caponi SO MUCH MONEY.

A personal fav: It was more "how" they lost. As other posters have commented, the offense has no flow, no purpose and zero situational awareness. The whole thing looks like a discombobulated goat rodeo, and I watched the second half of the second half, which was light years better than the first. They scored 3 baskets and 14 points in the first half. More turnovers than made baskets. That is next-level incompetence, and I can't believe all these players suddenly forgot how to play basketball at a high level. ...also, the obligatory "I was a 30+ year season ticket holder until I saw this mess" statement by a frustrated fan. Ever read that before?
