My wife and I both have advanced degrees from Tech, we both are members of the Tech Exes, and I was a big Red Raider fan as a child. If I had a second favorite team I guess it would be Tech. But the only athletic program I really care about is North Texas.

I would rather see North Texas in the MWC as a travel companion with TCU that see us in the WAC.

UCLA has 97 and USC has 84. I don't think any other school has even one-half as many as they do.

They list no championships in Division 1A football. I suppose that is because there is no true national championship game.

In 2002, when we played UT, Opie dissed Booger on the post game radio show, even though he played a great game. I had a positive opinion before that. What was he able to accomplish at Syracuse?

I thought they were a possible candidate for the Mid-Continent Conference.

It looks like they must predict La-Monroe and Fla. Int. will dominate the league given the number of players they have listed. Where is Jamario?

The awards were given out last week. The distinguished Alumni were Adel Al-Jubeir, Dr. Phil, and Ron Waranch. You shoulda been there.

I attended the Baylor-SMU game last year and there were more Bear fans than Mustang fans in my opinion. The place was no where near full and the published attendance was clearly inflated. I was surprised given the long history between the two schools from SWC days and the fact that it was the first game of the year. I doubt that more than 2000 SMU students were in attendance including those on the field.

I was unfamiliar with North Texas until my family moved to Denton in the Summer of 1970. The first game I ever saw was a televised game between NT and Tulsa in Tulsa on December 5, 1970. Tulsa won 26-20. I think that Drew Pearson played in that game. The first game I saw in person was on October 30, 1971 when NT defeated Drake 21-12. A friend of mine played in the Strickland Jr. High band and they had some kind of Band Day for local schools with deeply discounted tickets. Unlike PMG, I don't remember a big crowd even though it was Band Day.

I'll be playing with a foursome that includes a UT grad, a Baylor grad, and a SHSU grad. I am always happy to see their money go to support UNT athletics. Who else on this board will be playing on Monday?

Or, add the University of Louisiana and Troy. This would move Tulsa in with the Texas schools, which would probably be a greater benefit to their recruiting.

I would prefer the University of Louisiana over La Tech.

I know it won't happen, but a UNT v. UTA game at the superpit would be nice. They are 20-9 and we are 18-9.
