According to the article he recruited for WKU's 1AA national championship team. He raised money for the program by getting friends from the NFL to donate memorabilia for auctions. His sister is married to the Marquette Basketball Coach, perhaps he could talk his brother-in-law into a home and home series for basketball. I see nothing but positives, and this and the other article I posted answer almost any question one might have about his ability.

He quarterbacks the scout team, lifts with the team, and runs with the team until he vomits. That is the kind of competitor we need.

That comment was made by Alonzo Highsmith about the facilities at the U of Miami. I wonder when he toured the North Texas facilities in order to make that comparison. That does speak highly of our new athletic center.

Wasn't there some team conflict when he coached the Dallas Cowboys defensive line that he helped fuel? That being said, I suspect that he has matured a lot since those days and may now be a better coaching prospect.

Since Guy Lewis left it seems as if they never got the Basketball program back on track. I agree with you that UH is more like UTA than UNT.

RV's best interest is the same as UNT's best interest. This hire is the most important of his time here. This coach won't have 9 years to prove himself. Also, if Johnny Jones continues along the parth he is on (i.e. losing early in the conference tournament and no postseason invites) he will have proven to be a bust for RV. We can't keep giving these guys 6-9 years to have a winning record. In addition to this hire he better be ready to make some tough decisions with regard to Slinker and Jones. RV has to know he is replaceable and we have an President willng to hold his feet to the fire. As a friend of mine said, "We finally have a University President who is man enough to do what is neccessay to take UNT to the next level."

Back to Zeke Martin. When Gene Stallings spoke at the Superpit to the Mean Green faithful, Zeke spoke and said that it was Stallings that caused him to quit coaching at Denton High School because they were beat so bad by the team he played for (I think it was Paris High School). He subsequently founded Eagle-Martin Oil which continues to be a big supporter of the Mean Green.

Yes we have a women's golf team. They usually are available to play in the Don January Golf Classic as an added player on a foursome for an extra fee. A few years back Jaqueline Golden from the Women's Golf team played with my foursome and she impressed us with her play.

For anyone who has listened to radio broadcasts of UNT games you know that Eagle-Martin Oil has been a sponser for decades. Zeke Martin was a great friend of UNT.

I think he would be a good option. I would speculate that the BSU coach will probably be offered his job at ASU and he will be rehired by BSU.

The house is the second largest private residence in the United States. It is in Hickory Creek and tours have been given as part of fundraisers for various charities. I have toured it and it is impressive. I did not realize the Goldfields had a connection to UNT.

I did not see beak nor feather of Scrappy.

Using those criteria, all those people should hate the University of Texas.
