NT to MWC?

I believe the owner of Sam Moons got his biology degree from NT.

If accurate, 1500 sq ft would put us at #29 right ahead of Big Tens Iowa and almost 4 times the sq footage of current scoreboard. Very nice!

In years past I believe we consistently finished 3rd or 4th behind WKU, MTSU, and Troy. Even though we might win a title here and there in various sports, other sports brought us down. Now though it seems numerous teams have improved tremendously for us. Both mens and womens track did well during the indoor season and I believe they will both deliver positive results in outdoor competition. Mens b-ball delivered again. Soccer is strong as usual, the tennis team has done a phenomenal turnaround,softball has beaten Texas, Ark, and swept ranked Baylor. I believe they are in contention to win the title or at least finish better than past years. Mens golf is doing very well with an outstanding group of freshman that could put NT back on the map of golf prominence. Womens golf and volleyball has greatly improved and the swimming/diving team was in the hunt for the title until the end. Are these improvements across the board enough to put us in contention for the overall Bubkas Title? Is there somewhere that results and points can be tracked throughtout the year? Didn't mention football because, well just because. Any other team left off is purely accidental and unintentional. P.S. I am very proud of the young men on the football team that represent my Alma mater, just frustrated over last 5 years results. However, I think this could be the turning year for the team.

I want to see positive results from having a fulltime dedicated S & C coach for the football players. I want our linemen coming in and looking like legitimate D1 players. I want a bunch of pissed off, hungry, fire in the eye players willing to sacrifice blood, sweat, and tears and bring NT a conference championship and bowl victory. And I want pie! That is all.

TFLF = Canales? Have these 2 ever been seen in the same room at the same time? Wonder what other suggestions TFLF/Canales made last year will be implemented into the offense this year

I went to a b-ball game for the first time in awhile and was suprised at the seating. I am 5'8" and 165lbs and it was a tight squeeze, can't imagine some big guy wedging his butt in.

In all seriousness, has Jackson done one bit of good for NT? Has he increased fund raising or whatever he was brought on to do?

I hate to even say this but I really hope the Dallas campus totally fails and I even hope the law school is a bust. Anything to highlight Jacksons bad decisions.

damn it, I knew my church was the reason my taxes went up. When the pastor is driving a new, not used, Kia, something is definitely up.

I am really impressed with the depth and improvement in both men's and womens track. I also believe that they will be much stronger during the outdoor season. I know that we have been down in football the last 4-5 years and womens b-ball is struggling. However, the mens b-ball is strong, soccer is always a contender, tennis and swimming/diving have done dramatic turnarounds, and I believe that both golf teams, softball, and even volleyball have improved somewhat. Is our improvement in other sports enough to start competing for the annual Bubas Cup? In years past the football, men's b-ball and soccer teams didn't get much help from the other 13 teams in earning points for the Cup. However, this year the indoor track teams earned a 2nd and 3rd where in years past we hung around 5th - 7th place, and the swimming/diving team finished I believe 3rd (maybe 4th) but that is better than they have ever done. Does anyone know the nuts and bolts behind the scoring when determining the Bubas Cup winner each year?

I will chime in with my opinion even though I don't know all the pro's and con's of being or not being a system. It seems we (NT-Denton) struggle to pay our coaches minimum wage, have a hard time properly funding all sports, have a high student to teacher ratio, small endowment, unorganized, weak leadership at the chancelor position etc. etc. etc. All that said, do we have the funds, leadership, dedication, to be a system with the various campuses? I've heard the law school isn't opening on time due to lack of funds, the Dallas campus had to get some type of extension because it didn't have enough students by a certain date and we have a chancelor and BOR that ran off the best possibility that NT had of moving up in the tier system in a very long time. I am a proud alum of my alma mater and proudly wear my NT polo to work every Friday during football season and I usually take a good natured ribbing Monday morning but I always stand up and positively defend my school. However, it is getting harder and harder to hear all the negative crap about some of the assinine decisions NT management makes and come back with a well thought out and accurate rebuttal. I am getting to the point that I agree with what most people say about us. I really wish we could pack up and completely move campus 100 miles away to a place where the community appreciates us, the students go to NT as a first choice, not as a last resort, people are proud, not embarrassed to wear Mean Green merchandise, and the sun shines on campus every single day. Okay, no more double shots of espresso on an empty stomach, makes me chatty!! Last thing, even though it's a beating to be a Mean Green fan sometimes, I am taking off work a little early to get my 2 sons, head to campus to get us all new NT shirts ( hopefully in the correct shade of green and current logo, any suggestions on best place to go?) then heading to The SuperPit to watch a good old fashioned Ragin Cajun ass whipping. I guess at this point a buttload of emails and snail mail to the BOR wouldn't bring GB back but would voicing our concerns about LJ do any good since he's appointed by Big Hair?

I could look it up but too lazy right now. Who was the men's golf coach that led the team to our only national championship or was it championships?

One of those is going to happen no matter what the outcome of this game.

Just curious if the team strength records are available online. I know we've had some very strong players over the years ( Jonas Buckles weighed 200 and benched over 400) but it never seemed we were strong or well conditioned as a team. Would be interesting to see results of having a full-time dedicated coach for the FB team.
