I work with a large number of T-shirt alum and some of the biggest D-Bags support UT. We've all seen how people just clamor to a winner (Rangers) and they will run from a loser just as quick. If UT continues this season like its playing now and have a bad year or 2, watch the "fans" jump ship quicker than I'd jump on a 12 pack of shiner.

How much do I make? How much do the 3 or 4 alum that work with me make? How much do we give?

I really think we are making too much out of the possibility of Canales being named our HC. When RV named him interim, would it have made sense to say that there was no way in Hell that Canales would ever be the HC? No. I would bet that if RV asked him to be interim coach with no possibility of being in the running for HC, we would get wiped clean these last remaining games because instead of coaching to win, he would be out looking for his next job. The only way Canales remains employed here is if Leavitt is hired and keeps him on as OC. If Canales wins 4 or 5 games he might get a legitimate shot but I still doubt it. RV was being a politician, saying the right thing at the right time to get the results he wanted, whether he meant it or not.

The player CLOSEST to the action was the player himself. He was quoated as saying that it was no big deal. So putting football in the text of the law, every single time someone is making a tackle or blocking someone, they are committing assault. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone, it just seems that the wussification of America has trickled into college football.

People keep saying 2nd chance like it's already been proven they are guilty of what they are accused of. Let me tell a story and you'll understand why I would be happy with Leach or Leavitt becoming our next coach. I had a good friend that went through a divorce several years ago. At first things went fairly smooth, why did they go smooth you might ask? Well basically he was giving her everything she asked for in the settlement. He was a great guy, in fact, she was still coming over to his house periodically for a little yada yada!. However, eventually he got tired of her outrageous demands and finally told her HELL NO!. Guess what? She accused him of abuse. Said that during their entire marriage he physically and mentally abused her and she was terrified of him. Scared but she would still come over voluntarily when they were separated, sounds fishy. After over 2 years and who knows how much in attorney fee's, my friend got redemption. He found out that wifey poo had been sleeping with some guy almost their entire marriage. Also found out that she had taken credit cards out in his name and furnished her boyfriends home with furniture purchased on the credit card. During the final divorce hearing, my friends attorney called his last witness. The witness was no other than........... the guy his wife had been sleeping with. The guy admitted that the wife told him she made up the abuse stories because she knew most people heard abuse and formed their opinion that the person being accused was guilty. She thought it would make him cave and give her all she wanted. So, unfortunately false allegations are being used more and more on innocent people. Leach and Leavitt are innocent of any wrongdoing so far so they are still on their 1st chance, not their 2nd.

The number one cheerleader for Leavitt right now should be Canales. I believe that RV was clear in the experience needed for our next HC candidate. Canales doesn't have the experience. If most HC's come in and bring in their own staff, Canales needs Leavitt here to have a better chance of keeping a job. Come on Canales, talk up Leavitt to RV.

Does this keep us from striving to be the best damn football program (and university as a whole) possible?. If our own alum can't look at the positives of NT, how can we expect anybody else to look at us favorably? I am so f'ing sick of this self defeating attitude. I have read thread after thread about how pathetic NT is in every way possible. I'm sorry people feel that way but I damn sure don't. I have a great job after obtaining a business degree in finance, I've worked my ass off to get where I am and I think I've been a pretty good ambassador for NT when talking us up at work to A&M, UT, TT, OU alums. This attitude has GOT to stop, its more defeating to me to hear alum belittle NT than some douchebag Aggie.

If this is true, then RV needs to be shown the door also. Has he not learned his leason? Hell, I needed to fill a Financial Analyst II position and interviewed 5 individuals before filling the spot. I'm glad I did because candidate #4 blew everybody out of the water. If other candidates aren't considered, then RV has failed as our AD.

I completely agree with you. RV should look at every single coaching candidate with 1 thing in mind: Winning and I mean winning immediately. I am tired of having a squeaky clean athletic dept with great individuals for coaches and lose week after week. It hasn't been fun at work during football season for quite some time.
