  1. Mods need a grade too Minus one for starting thread banish yourself now
  2. your manhood is small you hide in the shower stall so go blow yourself
  3. we have the most gay (happy) posters of any college football board.
  4. Plumm, I've been reading your posts for years and I just can't get a solid feel on your true feelings for Fry.
  5. I hope President Rawlins kneed him in the groin then put him in a full nelson.
  6. He sure seemed to hold a grudge against Dodge. Not saying that Dodge didn't deserve it by not allowing him into practices but Vito's writing sure seemed to insinuate that he plain out didn't care for Dodge.
  7. the $78M palace that ballooned up to $100M at one point in your posts.
  8. this off the wall basketball coach hire is the reason so many people are nervous with RV getting it right this time for the new FB coach. Donna Capps should be laughing her ass off at us right now.
  9. Plumm, I like you and your passion for your alma mater but dude, you gotta realize that Hayden Fry hasn't been at UNT for umpteen years, he won't come back, and you've got to move on from the Fry days. He might have been a great coach, in fact the best coach UNT ever had, but after all is said and done he never got us in the SWC, never got us in a bowl, and never significantly raised football game attendance. Having said that, I don't see the point of your response to my post. $400-500K per year for a HC is NOT going to get us a big name coach. If you want to pull my pubes over numbers, lets go ahead and go with your $600K per year for a HC. Do you really think that makes a difference when it comes to bringing in a big name coach? No, not a bit of a damn difference. Look at the average CUSA HC salary and even throwing out June Jones' high of $2M per year at SMU, $600K isn't going to get you an average CUSA HC. Again, I love your piss and vinegar love for UNT, just quit slanting BS to try and prove a point. We either need to spend at least $1.3M per year to get a BIG NAME coach or be resigned at getting a good OC or DC for our next HC at a bargain price of only $600K per year.
  10. Do these guys not realize our new stadium only seats ~30-32K people? What if all these kids want to go and bring their parents to a game next year. There won't be run for some large butted alum to take up 2 seats anymore.
  11. $400-$500K isn't even close to getting us a big name coach. That wouldn't even beat the average salary for a HC in CUSA. If that is all we are willing to spend, we better snatch up Canales up immediately.
  12. His wife is hot and smacks flight attendants. Having said that, I would in a heart beat.
  13. why do you have to graduate? Believe me, the real world is way over-rated. Stay in school as long as you can and enjoy yourself. I'm upset because I couldn't drag in out past 5.5 years.
  14. You can get a prescription for that problem ya know!
  15. I just don't see where the criticism is. Nobody is debating how talented our band members are. They are better musicians than any other band's members we will ever hear. However, talented musicians playing in a college football band doesn't equate to a good football band. The pieces they play in the stands don't have to be difficult, intricate pieces. The point of them playing during the game is to get people excited and cheering. I'm not saying they shouldn't play the difficult songs at halftime, I just think they should play more football game atmosphere appropriate songs.
  16. I know family is important but one less TU fan....................
  17. I agree but I don't believe that June Jones was a big name hire. He came from the WAC after coaching some very good Hawaii teams which by the way is something like 6-3 this year.
  18. so i guess you answered my question somewhat so I've come to the conclusion that our band director needs to learn what type of music is appropriate for football games and that it is much different than music that would be played in an orchestra.
  19. I don't know, how are football bands organized at other schools? I would guess that a small % of universities even have a music dept. I've been to many high school football games that the band members were playing for fun and school spirit, not as a requisite, and they played good FOOTBALL songs. They don't have to be that complex where it takes hour upon hour of practice. The intricate pieces shouldn't be part of a FOOTBALL bands ensemble.
  20. damn you and your facts! Is my ex-wife posting as gangrene?
  21. I am not being critical or handing out kudo's just asking a legit question because I don't know the answer. Why does the Green Brigade fall under the direction of the music school? I know we have a recognizable music dept but I highly doubt any of the students getting a degree in music are interested in being in the football marching band. I have no doubt that our band members are more musically skilled than most other bands members but that doesn't equate to being a better FOOTBALL band. I like some of the more complex pieces the GB plays, however, I don't like them being played at a FOOTBALL game. I want a song that makes me want to clap my hands, stomp my feet, and get up and cheer. Would the GB be a better FOOTBALL band if it were made up of a bunch of students that like to get rowdy, play loud, and support their college FOOTBALL team and not necessarily under the direction of the music dept?
  22. I know I'm not part of the coaching search and I'd guess that nobody else on this board is either. We can have a love fest for Canales, Paris Hilton, or J. Quinn all we want but I don't think it's going to sway the opinion of the real decision makers.
  23. the best part of the whole postgame interview was when he said "Losing is intolerable and it won't be accepted". He is racking up points.
  24. Several weeks ago I was dead set against Coach Canales even being considered for the HC position. Last weeks win against WKU didn't sway my opinion in his favor at all. This week however I am beginning to agree with TFLF that he might be our guy. I don't think we can compare Canales with other coaching mistakes we've made in the past. Canales has been OC for a #2 ranked team, he has coached in the NFL and has extensive experience at various levels of college. Leavitt didn't build USF from the ground up all by himself. I'm not sure how instrumental Canales was in the whole process but you'd have to believe he was a big part of it. Having family members promote him as HC is a positive to me, not a negative. We as alum have griped about the Athletic Dept not promoting games, events, giveaways etc in the past and always pointed to not thinking outside the box, not thinking big time, not promoting the dept etc. Now we have a guy who is doing everything he can to promote himself (don't we do that every time we update our resume and send it to recruiters or other places of employment), promotes his players, team, dept, and university. I see nothing but pluses for doing that. Him walking over to Emmitt's daughter and giving her a ball probably made mom and dad much happier fans willing to support the team, was possibly seen by recruits and their parents and made a positive impact and shows that all the passion and drive is true, something like that couldn't have been scripted. I'm still not 100% convinced that Canales is our guy. I have no way of knowing who has been contacted, levels of interest, salary requirements etc. I do feel like Canales not only wants to be HC but he truly wants to be HC at North Texas and won't be looking at this as a stepping stone to bigger and better paydays. The next several weeks will be very interesting regarding our coaching search and hire. I'm just glad I don't have to make this very, very critical decision.
  25. Do you think possibly someone can disapprove of the President because they don't agree with their social and fiscal policies? You can read your liberal MSNBC crap and get the same information, this is a waste of money for a trip. You were a douchebag at Gainesville that nobody liked and I can see things haven't changed a bit. I'd be a bitter SOB too if I couldn't graduate from college and had a shitty job. Go ahead and ban me mods, tired of the fucking bullshit on this board anyone.
