Not sure I would classify this as a "scientific" article, but rather a survey from one hospital in one city. I'm sure it reflects the attitudes from this particular demographic, but it's a pretty small sample of subjects.

In spite of your denial, there is a lot of generalization in your statement. Nothing is always ALL. Most perhaps, but not all. I am a huge fan of Denzel Washington and for good reason. Not only is he a great actor, I believe he has the answer to societies ill's. Society. Not just black or white or brown or yellow. I hope this doesn't get me banned, but I thought this was pretty funny and my attempt to lighten the mood, even though it has been pretty respectful.

When I was in school, I shared a house with two other fellas. One was a seminary student and the other was a Mesquite police officer. That was thirty years ago. I couldn't believe the amount of abuse my police friend had to endure even for a traffic stop. He got berated and cussed at like you wouldn't believe on a regular basis. He got out of the profession a few years later and I don't blame him. I wouldn't want that job for all the tea in China. Before anyone criticizes them, walk a mile in their shoes.

While all the talk is on Police reform, where does the responsibility for the general public lie? It appears to me the common denominator here is that most of these fatal outcomes are the result of non-compliance and resisting arrest. Not to justify what happened with George Floyd, but he was coherent enough, initially, to go into a grocery store and pass a counterfeit $20 bill. Police are called and when law enforcement is enacted, that's when all hell breaks loose. So where is the responsibility of we, as citizens, to act responsibly and to obey the law and those who's job it is to enforce it? In my judgement, it's a two way street. Be respectful and respect will be shown. Resist and things usually don't go well for all involved. I have taught my children to when and if they encounter a police officer, to be polite, be respectful and to cooperate with their instructions. If you do that, then chances are good that everyone goes home to their families. However, if they have done something illegal, then man up and face the consequences of your actions. That's how I was raised and that's how I've raised my kids. That philosophy has served me well all my life.

All this while cries of "defund the police" reign down.

Then do away with mens and womens sports and let the best athlete(s) compete regardless of sport. If a woman, or whatever, can compete with men, more power to them. However, if I have a daughter or granddaughter competing in sports, I say hell no! Might as well do away with womens sports altogether. Ridiculous.
