  1. Meager has what DD wants in a QB. Unfortunetly, DM has not made a smooth transition to Div. 1 FB. That, plus it appears the current coaching staff can't develop talent. You either have it or you don't.
  2. Let's forget about what is now in the past and focus on basketball, signing day, the football banquet, and our new football coach. I can't wait until spring to see new enthusiasm, a new offense, and a new direction. Attend the BB games and the banquet to show the recruits there is support for NT. The future is bright!
  3. No, but I have a paper bag you could use in the meantime. We could be called the "Unknown Fans."
  4. Students are like anyone else. Give them a good product to watch, and they will come to the games. We have not had a good product for two years and we lose to team they have never heard of. I don't blame them.
  5. The whole thing sums up Darryl Dickey in a nutshell. Goodbye Coach. I hope you find youself somewhere where you'll be happy. It damn sure wasn't UNT.
  6. Yep!
  7. So what does that tell you about the coaching staff? 1) they don't care; 2) they're clueless about judging talent; 3) they're clueless about how to coach.
  8. The more I think about Nix, the more I like the thought. Anyone under Spurrier is going to be aggressive on both side of the ball. Plus, with his ties to S. Miss, he knows what it's like to be in the shadow of the SEC. Hence, our situation in the midst of Big 12.
  9. An RV insider. http://colleges.beloblog.com/archives/2006...or_unt_job.html
  10. I'll bet FFR can shed some insight on that question.
  11. For when we know who the coaching candidates are and when one of them will be hired?
  12. Well, Plumm, since there is no search committee (praise Allah!), repeat after me..."in RV we trust!"
  13. Hard to believe, but rumor has it that if Dennis Franchione doesn't beat Nebraska AND Texas, he will be on the street as well.
  14. I know this was not an easy time for RV. It's not a pleasant thing to do, regardless of the situation. Darryl has a place in NT history, for nothing else the 4 bowl appearances.
  15. I've always been a fan of Eric Russell, But I say, Clean House! Especially RF! That said, I'm sure a few will stay until recruiting is over.
  16. And now RV, get to work!
  17. Couldn't agree more, unless it's a high profile name that has been out of coaching and is looking for a fresh start (ala Hayden Fry). I'm sure NT is an attractive job for quite a few coaches out there.
  18. Now that it's over, I do feel bad for DD. But the underlying joy is that Ramon is OUTTA HERE!!
  19. SPORTSDAY Colleges: Recruiting Flower Mound Marcus quarterback commits to Fresno State 11:12 PM CST on Saturday, November 4, 2006 By DAMON L. SAYLES / The Dallas Morning News Flower Mound Marcus quarterback Matt Faulkner orally committed to play at Fresno State. Faulkner (6-3, 184 pounds) has thrown for more than 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns in his first season as a starter. His 194 completions lead 5A area quarterbacks. Faulkner also had interest from New Mexico, Washington State, Kansas and Arkansas. Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a player can sign a letter of intent is Feb. 7. I wonder if we even contacted this kid? Then again, if you were and accomplished passer, would you come to North Texas?
  20. I have given this much thought, but I will not be at the FAU game next week and after 16 years of attending NT football games, I probably won't be back next year unless significant changes are made. I do not believe NT admin. is serious about the direction of the program, so why should any of us support it? Unless the powers that be publicly state that the mid-range goal is to achieve top 25 status, target entrance into CUSA, hire competent staff that WANTS to be here and WIN out of conference games, I will no longer suffer through continued poor recruiting, watching inferior coaching and losing in the worse conference in the country. Fire away.
  21. I applaud the Green Team, but this is yet another indication of just how "wheels off" the program is. Just who is in charge of the offense? Evidently, no one.
  22. So why take them out? Why not reward those wonderful guys with continued playing time. Another reason I'm convinced that DD doesn't know how to win. It was so evident that the starting team has quit on Darryl, but when given an opportunity, the "Greens" were more than up to the task. I feel so bad for the players.
  23. We'll be there.
  24. It'l be the resistable force vs. the movable object.
  25. Hell, do you think Dickey would fire RF? Do we still want DD after everything he has said in the press about his "situation" and behind closed doors about all of "us MF'ers?" The bridge has been burned. Say goodbye, Darryl.
