In my letter to the Prez, I stated that we're striving for Tier One status academically and should strive for the same excellence athletically. Change this culture of losing into one of very high expectations.

Tweet says UNT Hire is complete! Announcement tomorrow

What does it mean? -
Riley?
-
A fitting end to his sorry career. Stats be damned.
-
Ya, sorry. Late to the conversation. It really doesn't matter who gets the job. We, as fans/supporters will support him or we won't. RV and Dr. S have the final say. I also think Applewhite is being underestimated. He has not left the game since his playing days and has learned from some very good coaches. It remains to be seen, but our options are limited.

I'm curious 90, who would you like to see here and what do you think it would cost? Sorry if this has already been asked.

...And then we can all have a Merry Christmas! GO MEAN GREEN!

Lincoln Riley denies being a candidate for North Texas job
Hunter Green replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
So did he interview, or did he not interview? If he interviewed, then he is/was interested in the job. Why waste everyone's time interviewing if you're not interested? -

Neither of them are going to say anything publicly in an interview. That would be foolish and an admission that they have failed. To expect anything differently is foolish as well. No one should air their dirty laundry in public and the fact that Dr. S did not give Rick a vote of confidence should speak volumes. We have all voiced our opinions by letters, emails and phone calls. They get it. Banners, booing and other public protests are boorish and reflect poorly on ourselves and the university. Haven't we had enough bad pub already? If you don't like the product, stop buying it. Attendance from here on out will make a louder statement than any banner that few will see. There are talks going on behind the scenes, and I assure you and the next coaching hire will make a statement one way or another. GO MEAN GREEN!

Why the UNT HC salary range is a reflection of our ambition
Hunter Green replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Harry, you are 100% spot on. There is no reason UNT cannot position itself to become a P5 member. All it takes is a commitment and to make it a goal to achieve within five years. Rally the troops! Make it happen! GO MEAN GREEN! -
Point taken. GMG

I saw that, just didn't see it listed on Fios. Maybe it's one of those TBA games.

Don't see a listing for it. Anyone? GO MEAN GREEN!

Positive vs Negative Financial Reinforcement
Hunter Green replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
The power that the dissidents on this board have is easy access to mass communication, not financial leverage. IMO I'm afraid that, and $1.50, will get you a cup of coffee. GO MEAN GREEN! -
We are one of two things. Irrelevant and/or a punch line. Now we get to have our asses handed to us again by a perennial CUSA foe on Fox Sports SW. Another opportunity for scorn and ridicule on national television. Are you seeing this Dr. Smatresk? It's an embarrassment.

Realistic goals for the rest of the season
Hunter Green replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I read this post with nodding approval. Written by an old friend who I met at a practice many years ago. Harry, you have always been the voice of reason, even during times as torturous as these. You know this program inside and out and have a passion that is unmatched by anyone in the Nation. Your approach toward the AD, administration, the players, and even us unwashed fans has been fair, rational and almost always spot on. So, as I read your post again, I began to smile and thought to myself, Harris Meirs should be the Athletic Director of our beloved university. Why not? Surround yourself with the best people you can find and get this ship righted. Hank would be a great right hand man to help you with the ins and outs of the job until you got your feet wet. We've always wanted someone with ties to North Texas in the AD, so, why not Harry Meirs? Thanks for all you do for all of us and for giving us the forum to voice our worthless opinions. You're the man, Harry! GO MEAN GREEN! -
