Jeremy was at our camp in San Antonio & he was all of 6'6" with good foot action on the different set ups Chico made them run. He was pretty slim but had good speed going through the drills. He looked to throw a long ball that was catchable by several different receivers. The qb from cedar park was here too (he looked 6'5" or so). Chico said that he was interested in three of the qb's at the clinic here. 20+ were in his group of qbs. They expected 60 to 80 but had about 180 players at the event. The coaches were real impressed with the turnout. The coaches had the guys loud & running at full speed or they made them re-do the drills. Since it was our first clinic there, they said that probably will have 200+ next year (better than the Dallas turnout). Several flew in from El Paso & valley area. Dan had them stand up at the introduction of the coaches at the start of the clinic. Real Big O/D lineman but no keepers at least in the D liners. Steel HS defense line was in Mike's group & looked the most athletic. Several tall receivers but I didn't watch that group. Some made good long ball catches though when they paired them with the qbs at the end of the camp.

Not no but hell no- plum what are you expecting after 14 years from the ad's dept?

Usually the San Antonio guys have to go the Round Rock, we are growing. Hope we see some athletes form this area.

Tastygreek is right on...the teams I mentioned were successful & didn't distroy basketball to elevate any of their athletic programs (responsibility). Unlike NT (rv especially) where year in & year out we wonder what the direction our men's (athletic) programs are headed. This isn't happening with successful programs I mentioned above. All those fans who have given up & left did so since no one in the athletic dept seemed to care about fans or teams records or even hires that they made because of a lack of responsibility in that dept & school administration. If the ad's office was responsibile, we would have been good in FB & BB with larger attendance the last several years. Where are we? Reading all these blogs I wonder if all these same people have called or written Lane or even Stan Walker in development? O, by the way, development has taken over athletic responsibility's fund raising with Regie & even the alumni assn. Does anyone on this board wonder why? It's sad to think about all the praises for our loaded men's bb program last summer to what is being said now. It's not all the bb coaches problem because of our current position.He just wanted a head coaching job. He didn't hire himself to this job with no goals. Who did? How do you answer this question- what is your flagship sport? I laugh & tell them the "Green Brigade".

Yea, we will wait for the ad's 14th year to judge him. Sure we are not rushing things? By the way, Lane mentioned that we were stuck in the 70's when he got here (during a meeting). For those who say that the ath dept has done so much for athletics- why does athletic dept become so concerned with action when we have started a CAPITAL CAMPAIGN if he was so effective in the past? Why did the ath dept principal fund raiser, cooper jones, leave after receiving athletic fund raising goals? Why did GB plan to fire ath dept personnel prior to her leaving? Why did the presenter of the New football stadium presentations to the studients look like Dean Warren Burgen (CAS) not rv?

Do you ever wonder why schools that we were playing in the 70's have taken different routes to success. Each one has had AD's that could face problems and find an answer.They had a plan for the future (ie. goals). Look where we are currently. Being invited to a new conference (sbII), because we are near Dallas saving our bacon because the conference home base is there and there were no other teams that didn't have a dancing partner around!

OK , froggy found out about rv being here, dog gone it. We are doomed! Good guess though froggy. The k guy needs to de-program froggy maybe.

After seeing their press conference, I know why we are so far more advanced than wku- they had to use a microphone for the audience's questions. I have seen so many of our press events w/o a mic I have now developed a 6th-sense on what the question might of been. Way to go rv! Did we have a press conference that was posted on any media other than our MG Sports? If I heard their pres say that they are going " to be a meaningful partner" for the conference. I guess we are, don't we bring the conference home city back into the conference- Dallas? Somebody needs to tell our athletic dept.

I think are only goal should be to look like a "TEAM" should, no matter who we have on the floor.

You'll be gone shortly too. At a point in time you get tired & just leave NT & follow another team. All this is due to lack of direction from the ad's office. Some of us have seen donar's come & go without any hope of growing because of this problem in that office. If you think they are doing a good job you haven't been reading this blog lately!

Since rv has made us such a heavy weight in college football we can demand that the conference do a North Texas rule (ie. think Boise St) where since we have to rely on our offense practically we can just say the rule that states "Make-it-take it" is in effect when we play.

But that requires work right?

WSJ said in football season the ut football team makes $72M+ VS Mississippi's $10M when they played early in the season. I wonder where our figures come from? I pay way too much for the club when you consider the food we get up there.

How about get rid of the palms & put Kate Upton & the SI swim suit beauties lying on the beach.

The disease is RV. The symptoms are- 1) this discussion. We are seemingly questioning every major hire rv has made since the 2007. No answer to this since I can't look into the future like some here. 2) ad's staff- printing tickets while the LSU bb game is going on shows me no attempt to improve the quality of NT fans game experience. Two athletic personnel said that he is 'too comfortable" in his office so his staff have gone there too. 3) NT administration & development are not seeing the problems you are talking/complaining about since we don't tell them. 4) the asst. ath. director for corporate (big donors) is always in the broadcasting booth rather than supporting prospective athletic donors. 5) SB tennis championships at NT had about 600 to 700 people at it with no consessions- several had to leave NT to get drinks/food=tennis made no $. 6) so we fire coaches & pay them to go away = who hires the next one rv; Would you have confidence in that hire? What will that cost? 7) with so many universities in TX, who do we compete with & are true competitors with since he arrived 13 years ago in any sport? What direction in ath? ...the list goes on & on.

If we can't get Jones & Williams et al going, we all need to plan things to do this weekend since we would not be in Arkie after Sat watching the men! The woman we'll see which team shows up. They have different problems going on.
