Sometime after Notre Dame made the school in El Paso quit using the name, they allowed Shamrock High School in Shamrock, Texas to use the name “Fighting Irish”. I believe it was a case of Shamrock seeking permission rather than presuming it would be OK. I have no problem with New Deal High School using our name. It might even seem some extra Tshirts or hats.

I live in the Tampa area and i can attest to the fact that the USF fans i have meet look down on all the new schools coming in to the AAC. One would think that with the record USF has had lately, they wouldn’t be so sure of themselves.

To answer the “NOS” question: In drag racing you turn up the nitrous oxide bottle to get better performance out of your engine. The NOS acronym is a bastardized abbreviation of that. That’s the only thing I can think of. GO MEAN GREEN!
