  1. And you will drink after they arrive I suspect.
  2. Coach Sammy Dabbs dropped by my office last week to introduce the coach that was taking over recruiting for T&F. Coach Dabbs has since left UNT for a job at Kentucky. That will be a big loss to UNT. No word on a new HC as far as I have heard...
  3. Wow, can't believe my tailgate was so uninspiring last year it obliges you two to look for new digs... Good, because I didn't want to see you on Saturdays too as I already spend M-F with yall. Good Riddance!
  4. I like how the pole in the middle of the room was made "extra sturdy" to accomodate the added weight of the typical SMU Coed.

  8. Link to Seating Chart as of 9am June 1st. I went ahead and selected aisle seats on the front row of the lower bowl... I how we will have decent perspective being that low. I loved how close the action seemed when I saw UNT play Monroe last year in Monroe. Terrible stadium experience overall, but you were so close, you felt like you were on the field. See ya'll Sept 10th!!! GO MEAN GREEN!
  9. I am acting on behalf of my client, Montey Kennerson-Stevenson, former D-lineman with the Mean Green would like to signal his interest in playing. I told him about it, and he was a close friend of Andrew and is looking forward to hitting the field. Please let me know what he needs to do to get out there. Jason Peaocck peacock@unt.edu
  10. A few of my colleagues in UNT's admissions office are in the running to be the face of Mean Green Football. You don't have to feel bad about voting for them because they're hot chicks. http://apps.facebook.com/contestshq/contests/110154/voteable_entries/20446767?ogn=facebook Add the app to vote for them. 12. Hey Mean Green Nation, There is a little poll for the Best College Football Movie Ever pitting the touching story of a midget that wants to play football at Notre Dame against UNT's own Necessary Roughness. Easy vote in my book... What about yours? VOTE HERE http://www.dailynorseman.com/2011/2/21/2005391/greatest-football-movie-ever-tournament-rudy-vs-necessary-roughness If you need another reason to vote for Necessary Roughness, how about

  16. Caught this in the HS chat tonight. Look at about the 10:50 Mark. TIm MacMahon even set one idiot straight regarding a stupid comment made about Riley. Durrett then follows it up with a dig at the NT Defense. THIS IS NOT LAST YEARS DEFENSE. It may not be what it was like when the Green Curtain was reigning, but I believe that it has the potential to keep us in games. http://highschoolsportsblog.hsgametime.com/
  17. Any links out there???
  18. I went Ford last night with some of my friends from SFA's admissions office. I was wearing a purple shirt, but also had on my Mean Green hat. Got a few nice compliments from some of the fans on both sides, particularly about Riley. No surprise there. The Stadium was no more than 80% full. The swanky boxes seemed even less filled. SFA had a turnout on par with UNT's showing at Ford a couple of years ago. I wondered how busy the blvd was during the game? SFA had a great showing early. SMUs offense, particularly thier QB Mitchell is not ready for prime time. SMUs saving grace on offense was their line. The OL controlled the line of scrimmage and just wore down the Jacks. In the 4th quarter, SMU was finally able to move the ball on the ground. ALso, I have never seen as many calls and non-calls go against one team. From the stands it looks like SMU boosters didn't only pay for tickets last night. Good game Jacks!!! ANd I think it is going to be a loing season for the ponies.
  19. If I am not mistaken, NX35 is an event that occurs at SXSW. A bunch of denton bands take over a venue in Austin and play... Say what you want about Fry St Fair, but damn, Little D is not the same without it!!!
  20. All UNT departments use PO Boxes. The US Post service will not deliver to physical addresses on campus. Only overnight packages can be delivered to physical addresses. Looks like the planning for the event is a family affair...
  21. He averaged 8 min of play in 14 games as a true freshman. While these are certainly not impressive numbers, he does have time to grow...
  22. Christ, I hate the off-season!
  23. Here is the official announcement from the Prez!!! >>>> March 31, 2008 To: The UNT community Today, the university terminated the land-lease agreement for the Radisson Hotel and assumed control of the property, including the hotel building. While the hotel will no longer operate under the Radisson brand, the hotel will continue to operate for the immediate future under another hotel operator selected by the university. During this transition time, UNT will be working with the hotel operator on a plan to address room and event reservations and the overall impact of this change on the hotel's staff members. UNT had been in discussions with the former hotel operators, Denton Hotel Associates, for some time about the future of the hotel, and the hotel was marketed for sale in 2007. The hotel's location at the apex of I-35 E and I-35 W makes it a signature piece of property and a visual gateway to the university. Assuming control of the property, which the university has owned since1948, will ensure that its future use is complementary to UNT's plans and that it will continue to be viewed as an asset to the city of Denton. Having a full-service quality hotel in proximity to UNT is important to a vibrant campus life, especially when it comes to athletic, academic and cultural events; graduations; and the employment of our students. UNT will remain mindful of the impact that development has on the surrounding neighborhoods, and we will ensure that our neighbors are kept appropriately informed as our planning unfolds. This is an exciting opportunity for the university, and I look forward to giving you periodic updates through InHouse, our faculty-staff e-newsletter and web site. With green pride, Gretchen M. Bataille President
  24. Words are important. It is imperative to remember that when you refer to UNT as "cheap" there are many other connotations that are shared... Bargain Basement Cut-Rate Depreciated Additionally, cheap also means inferior. These terms when used as adjectives for UNT devalues the worth of UNT. Any alum should be admonished if they refer to UNT as cheap, and if you have seen anticipated tuition costs for the 2008-2009 school year, cheap is not a word that I would use to describe it. Branding UNT has an impact on those that are not familiar with the university. Everytime a prospective student or athlete hears UNT referred to as cheap or low-cost, it hurts the reputation of our University. We are just now reinventing UNT as a premier public educational institution. Our 2007-08 Freshman had an SAT avg. higher that Texas Tech, we are groing by leaps and bounds in facilities and enrollment. Now I am not surprised when I hear UT & A$M alums denegrate UNT, but dadgummit if I will let a UNT alums do it anymore!
  25. Watch the double entendre sir!
