In Adrian Lewis's History of WWII class, we had a older gentleman that was auditing the course. It was a night class, and one evening, Dr. Lewis turned over the lectern to the man. For the next hour and a half, he recounted his experience as an 18 yr old tail gunner in a B-17 over Germany. He spoke modestly of his combat experiences, but I still fondly remember his talk. Among the most interesting comments... Condoms were use to urinate in on long flights, the dropped earthward.

Back in 85 or 86, I joined Big Brothers' & Sisters' as a lil brother. I was matched up with a recent UNT Grad (Campbell) who is/was/always will be the most dedicated UNT fan I know. In fact, we got kicked out of BBBS for going on an overnight trip out of state to see UNT/NTSU play the ASU Indians in Jonesboro. I will not forget that game, as each time ASU scored, they shot off several rounds of fireworks. They had run out of fireworks by halftime. While I didn't start at UNT, I have made up for it in spades. I transferred to UNT in 97 to start classes, but it was rushing the field after the MTSU game in 2001 that solidified my Mean Green Madness. I have worked at UNT Admissions for 13 years, and I am now an Assistant Director of Undergrad Admissions, and do my best to make as many more new members of the Mean Green Family as I can. GMG

No, I'm in Undergrad Admissions at UNT and was attending the Carthage HS College Fair. I would ask BigDanTeague... He seems to be in the know!

When I talked to UTSA commit Bogenshultz, I told him about him about UTSA/UNT game, and he mentioned he was going to try and attend. Later Rutherford and Goree mentioned making the trip an unofficial one along with Bogenshultz. Keep him close to family, immediate time on the field a sincere possibility, playing across from his HS buddy for another 4 years. Could be a combo no other school can match.

Had a chance to meet all three of them at Carthage HS today. I first saw Bogenshultz and congratulated him on his UTSA commitment, and told him I was looking forward to beating him for the next 4-5 years. He laughed, and mentioned that he had been hoping for a UNT offer, but had good things to say about Connor Means. Next, Rutherford came up to the table,and I immediately knew who he was. At 6'5"' he is easy to spot and looks like a CB's nightmare. He seemed excited about his offer and we talked a little about the Rice game. He was wearing a Cougar High Tshirt, so I had to give him a little bit of a hard time, but was good natured at the ribbing. A short while later Goree came up to the table and was surprised that I knew his name. He told me that UNT was his top choice still... could we beat Colorado for the Goree sweep stakes! It would be nice, I hope we can hang on to him! Rutherford came back up and we talked some about Apogee, I talked up the Rice game some more, and even talked about our current #3, and of his NFL chances! Got a pic of them both flashing the claw. (They may need to work on that) On another note, the OL Goodacre chatted with me as well, very impressive frame! Again I extended my congratulations for his LaLa commit, and told him what a great fan base and program they have. But I sincerely got the impression, he would come if offered.
