ouch that does hurt. Good luck to Siggers outside of when he plays UNT

FCS Division, WAC is destroying the Southland Conference
-
good, take even the biggest critics of SL, myself inlcuded, hope he is successful, but that is a big "IF" right now after what we have seen the past 2 seasons.
-
sorry but how was this not his extension? I agree he did not hire, but he was the AD for the extension, if he is not the one extending his coaches, then why is he AD? Just asking?
-
oh what could have been if RV would not have hamstrung TD the first year by not allowing him to keep any staff holdovers. Good for both of them going back and being successful. Should be interesting game.
-
perfect fit for Sam Houston as they move to the WAC.

easy answer DC!!
-
so now the requirement to be a HC is to coddle and produce unicorn farts. Good lord hate it when administrators who were always last picked for sports make decisions on sports matters.

🦅❇️🦅UNT Climbing in Recruiting Rankings! Hot Damn!

yes -
I think many of us can theorize, same reason said DC still has a job after one of the statistically worst defensive showings in recent history.
-
Bowen will be coming back, SL is loyal to friends/buddies to his own detriment Of course I hope I am wrong.
-
not a great start so far down 7-3

Crystal Ball - Looking down the road

why not follow the model of Appalachian State, Arkansas State, etc... Bring in a coach and he wins and moves on great then bring in the next coach who wants to come in to win not just collect paycheck, very rare for a G5 to maintain a winning coach for more then 4-5 yrs, now losing coaches, will hang around extra because the accountability is not there and any bowl game gives that glimmer of hope. 2 legit bowl games, forget that they were blow outs, with the highest paid HC should not cut it after 5 yrs. -
If Seth Littrell is back next season

then again that is on the coaches to put the players in who want to play and are willing to take a hit and then hit someone. -

sorry but not laying this on the players, the defense is on the coaches not playing and adjusting to the strength of the players and not making any adjustments to the play calling. Also the tackling issues and not being the right position is coaching as well, what are they doing in practice because the discipline is not there, which reflects on the coaching staff. You can have Blue Chip players on the team but if the coaching staff puts them in the wrong positions then they will look plain. -

He has gone 33 games in a row without beating a team with a winning record, sounds more like a paper tiger that gets torched when facing a team at or above .500. -
Shawn Clark-Appalachian St. Head Coach
untbowler replied to meangreenbob's topic in Mean Green Football
Coastal Carolina Coach, which a recent FCS move -up is undefeated and he only makes $325k, the same amount our pitiful DC makes. Wish UNT knew how to do more with more, but apparently here more means getting lazy and cashing checks. -
that makes it even worse, sorry but SL has no excuses for such a poor year, sorry COVID is a cop out, did not bother Army 9/2 and they were locked down tighter than anyone, nor did it affect Coastal Carolina, Cincy, ULL, or Appy State who were in the same boat. SL and Staff got the Big $$$ but have produced extremely subpar results, yet nothing seems to be happening all in the name of $$$, well then that falls on WB for signing off on these contracts. Tired of no accountability for spending extreme amounts with poor results.

He hardly plays any back ups unless forced too, even blow outs. So you get 2/3yr players who never see field because SL fixates on a player and never pulls them unless forced too -
We keep supporting the team and hope that magically SL learns to coach between years 5 & 6, because winning recruiting does not earn you a conference title.

I am thinking some of SL's friends on the BOR have Wren muzzled -
Utah St for sure, SL was still dreaming of KSU, while Utah St had a temporary coaching staff after their HC left.
