I no we are not an NCAA sport but we bowl against some. We made the long-drive out to El Paso and placed 3rd behind WT (Top 5 Nation) and UH. We shot a high game of 1150 and averaged 1050 for the tourney. Dusty Crumpton led the Mean Green shooting 1316 for 6 Games (219.4), Jason Lyon was 2nd man shooting 1314 (219 Avg). The 2 averages placed individually 11th and 12th. Seong Pak also shot 1300 (216.6). All of the Top 6 bowlers for UNT averaged over 200. Even though we placed 3rd, we in many opinions are the 2nd best team in Conference behind WT and should be Top 30-40 this year. We will be at Palace Lanes in Houston this coming weekend (Upset we are missing Homecoming). Thanks, Jason

I know they went 2-1 the first day, but due to NCAA rules they can not release scores since it is pre-season. Have not heard about Day 2.

DRC..NT player charged another involved
untbowler replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Damn how did you guys hear about St. Louis and the Kansas Girls. On serious note I have learned from 3 years of coaching and 2 years of working in a housing department that students will do stupid things and when caught they have no idea what to do. Athletes are no different except they represent the school and we pay for their education. Like others have said DD will deal with the situation as he sees fit. GMG rob the Vandals -
DRC..NT player charged another involved
untbowler replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Well if he did not know somebody was in the bed of his truck then a: he needs to learn how to use his rear-view mirror. b: if he knew there were already police there and a shooting occured then he was a witness to a possible crime and left the scene. Still at 3:30 A.M. on private property blasting music is not very smart. But who cares Boys will be Boys -
Road Trip to El Paso
untbowler replied to untbowler's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Cool, thanks for the advice. I figure the speed limit is 70 or 75 all the way depending on the county population, but follwing behind the big rigs should be the safest route. Thanks again GMG -
Any fans coming up from the South on 35E, why don't you take a side trip to Don Carter West and watch the Mean Green Bowling Team on Saturday. We start at 10 A.M. and will be competing against Sam Houston, WT A&M, TX St., and OU, plus others. Watch some bowling and then make it up to Denton for the Football Game. Thanks, Jason UNT Bowling

Thanks for the comments Mandy, best of luck this coming weekend, should be a great game.

Welcome to the hypocrisy of NCAA D1 football. They teach the players that they are above the law. Look at the safety from OU, gets arrested again and still plays.

How bad is this?
untbowler replied to meanrob's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
-2 rushing yards is pretty bad but W. Illinois is a very strong 1-AA team. -
I guess there is a reason DD is the head coach and none of are. Baylor will give everyone a good sense of who should be the QB, personally i go with Hall. Smith is more mobile but he also threw pass right to OU and I still remember his pass right to the Cincy CB in NO that was not a TD b/c they made a bonehead push in the back penalty. But who cares I am a bowler not a coach and we will see who is better on Saturday Night. I do hope that if Smith starts and gets on a roll that they just leave him in instead of rotating and disrupt the flow.

TWU Golf Course
untbowler posted a topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I suck at golf but just took up the game and was curious on any comments on the course, I know it is cheap and wide open, which is good for me. How crowded would it be on an early Saturday Morning. Thanks Guys and Gals -
Just reminding everybody to make sure you're registered to vote for the upcoming election on September 13th. If not registered go to your local Gov't office and pick up a card and have it postmarked today or tomorrow in order to be eligible to vote on the Constitutional Amendments and DCTA if applicable.

Fort Worth was technically well within the law to annex all the land as long as their city limits at the time did touch the land, also they have home-rule. The county at the time (run by a bunch of good ol boys : Kurt Wilson and Scott Armey) saw $$$ with tax revenue from TMS being built and Fort Worth had to be the one to get involved since Denton and Dallas would not come in. Fort Worth and Tarrant are now getting to big for their britches and need to be knocked down a little bit.
-
Denton did not have much say in the matter with regards to Ft. Worth swiping up land way outside of their city center. They can do what they choose in order to steal money from the county and put it into their coffers. There are very few who want anything to do with Fort Worth, which makes me wonder why people would want to move into the Harriett Creek Subdivision going across from NW ISD. Hopefully a judge will see that there is only greed involved and tell Tarrant County to back to their own lands.
-
Ft. Worth is just as bad as Tarrant County they snaked their way up 35 all the way to TMS and are taking all of the tax revenue there, also they have a rather large Housing Development building up at 156/114 corner. Should be interesting to follow and I hope Trophy Club and Roanoke will join in the battle and support Denton County and the lower taxes. Will be interesting to watch the decision play out at the Supreme Court.
-
Denton county is still fighting and and they now have the backing of Flower Mound mainly due to a new business park going in along Grapevine Lake. If Tarrant County manages to weasel out a decision then taxes in the areas will Triple, causing businesses and developers to look elsewhere. It is all about money with the land valued at 1.6 Billion in the near future. Tarrant is pretty sick in their insinuation that the they are only trying to get the land that is theirs even though the line has been the same for 150 years, go figure. It will be a nightmare if the TX Supreme Court upholds the corrupt/bias decision especially for my area of elections and for any towns involved.

Where did everyone live?
untbowler replied to Stan R's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Living in the HD Apartments is nice, of course we are in the smallest of the bunch, but for the rent price I will not complain, now if the students will just be quiet J/k most are considerate. -

Going to miss the girls they were mostly TX bred and they were all great students, players, and people. Best of Luck to those who Graduated (Kristen, Sandyha, Natalie, Bettina). Good Luck to those coming, especially the two Texas Girls, played each other in the 5A Doubles final. Hope everybody supports the team next year.

Last Home Match today for the Five Seniors on the UNT Tennis Team. Match begins at 2:00 at Goldfield against SMU. Good Luck, Bettina, Benita, Natalie, Kristen, and Sandyha

Saw the girls lost 2 very close matches this weekend. Came down to 1 match and both were 3 setters. They are good results despite the losses. UALR has beaten some ranked teams and Ark. St. always has a tough team. One match left for the girls at home on Wednesday agionst SMU. Good Luck to them.

Yeah to bad Riverside got rained the girls have had to deal with I think 4-5 rainouts already, but playing some good competition does help going into Conference. Northridge must of had a darn good team.
