on the new CUSA boards I have never seen a more conceited group of fans. SMU thinks they are Kings since CUSa in their stupidity brought them in when they should have told them to go find another home to wreck. The there are the Memphis and ECU morons who think they are better than everyone else. Finally the Marshall fans who after getting their asses handed to them last year think they are now to good for the MAC. But hey we can still laugh at SMU's follies b/c we have been there and done that.

Bliss should be lucky to have his name even brought again. He belongs in prison for the crap he pulled at Baylor. If a school even took one look at Bliss they would be committing Alumni Support suicide. SMU better start finding something or they will be the laughing stock of CUSA.

Just curious why is it that our men's team always seems to come out slow in the 2nd half, granted they came back and won last night but I have seen numerous times we go into the locker room with a lead only to get routed in the opening minutes of the 2nd half. Great Win again by the B-Ball guys but looks like they need to come out firing in the 2nd half in order to do some damage in tourney.

Bowling Green once again where those nasty Hilltoppers will be tough to beat as usually, although I believe we lost a close one this year.

All Students must see
untbowler replied to untbowler's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
same here to bad my wife is still in classes, at least she gets the staff discount from fees and extra crap. -
increase for Fall 2004. You gotta love the deregulation of tuition and the gullible State Representatives who believed the Universities would not take advantage. Below is the e-mail sent. "The university invites students to participate in a Budget Hearing Monday, March 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the University Union, Room 418, to discuss a proposed increase in tuition beginning in Fall 2004."

The wife helped out with the tailgating and she said there was good sized crowd out there for the ladies. Who did they play in their first game?? -
I have not seen an exact design, I hope it is not 4 on one side and 2 on the other side. I also believe they were looking at adding an indoor area with 2-3 courts which would be awesome.

The ladies went South last weekend and swept Tx State 7-0 and then beat UTSA 5-2 revenging a loss last season 4-3. Off to 3-1 start once again this year. They are in New Orleans this next weekend with a match against Florida A&M and a conference match against UNO. Keep up the good play ladies.

UIL Realignment
untbowler replied to IronMan4's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I would expect both Denton schools would drop back to 4A once the new HS is in place, although with the rate of population growth they could all 3 end up in 5A. Will be interesting to watch in 2 years. Also that 5A district with Ryan is super tough. Ryan, Soutlake Carroll, Keller, and Grapevine. Plus 5A Region 1 will be the teams to beat come State Tourney. -

Woohoo my alma mater gets to have the Carrollton whipping boys back in district, while no more Plano. GO Lake Highlands!!! To bad Plano was my district in H.S. I could have made Regionals without them. -
Did not get to see match on Saturday due to taking my Comps, but the Lady Eagles beat Sam Houston St. 5-2, then lost close match to Texas Tech yesterday down in Las Colinas due to the Rain. 4-2 They play again next weekend down in San Marcos and San Antonio. Go Eagles!!!

7:30 time slot makes to much sense
-
I could handle that lets add baseball and a Women's Bowling Team!!! We could keep some of the talent in the state rather than letting Wichita and Nebraska and Central Missouri steal them.

A win over an NAIA schools looks good now considering what happened to Villanova (losing to D2 Chaminade) and Rhode Island (losing to NAIA Luboock Christian). We should just be happy with any win right now after the past 5 years of Mean Green B-Ball.

We just got back from San Marcos yesterday unfotunately we missed the ass whooping on ASU. We placed 2nd at the tourney and now sit in a tie for 2nd place behind WT A&M in tie with UH, within our conference. We beat TX A&M, UH, ULL, TX St., OU, and LSU this past weekend. WT is a Top 10 team in the nation and are heads and shoulders above everyone else. We should be sitting around Top 30 in the nation by the next set of power rankings. We bowl again January 10th somewhere in Louisiana, no site yet, then again the next weekend in OKC. Hope everybody gets to read this. Thanks, Jason

This will probably get moved but very interesteing as it pertains to donors giving to UNT. I was speaking a older alumni who I play tennis with and finally realized he is a UNT alumni, but he like I am sure thousands of others refuses to give to UNT. I asked him why and he said the school has done nothing to earn the money and he just does not want to throw it away. I then mentioned to him we have one more home game and then a game on the deuce and his response was NMSU and ASU, so who cares. We both agreed on the need for better media coverage and the need for new UNT promotions videos and athletics promotions. As well the need to play a more regional schedule against more name recognized opponents. I hope his attitude is not the majority but I think it might be and this is a donor who could potential donate tens of thousands alone. So we need an upgrade in administration and media, as well as try to sneak into CUSA or more named regional conference or well we will not grow to the level we should be at.

I no we are not an NCAA sport but we bowl against some. We made the long-drive out to El Paso and placed 3rd behind WT (Top 5 Nation) and UH. We shot a high game of 1150 and averaged 1050 for the tourney. Dusty Crumpton led the Mean Green shooting 1316 for 6 Games (219.4), Jason Lyon was 2nd man shooting 1314 (219 Avg). The 2 averages placed individually 11th and 12th. Seong Pak also shot 1300 (216.6). All of the Top 6 bowlers for UNT averaged over 200. Even though we placed 3rd, we in many opinions are the 2nd best team in Conference behind WT and should be Top 30-40 this year. We will be at Palace Lanes in Houston this coming weekend (Upset we are missing Homecoming). Thanks, Jason
