  1. speaking of bonfire where will it be this year since they drained the pond in front of it??
  2. again that 1.8 GPA is really hard to keep up with
  3. There is a record keeper there in County Commissioner Court, but I think he was making a funny
  4. Tulane also has teams taken in at Georgia Tech and Memphis. The outpouring of support has been phenomenal and hopefully these kids can get back into classes at the same time.
  5. what happened to all the chicken-littles exclaiming that we would be lucky to get out of LSU with no injuries, well we have that opportunity now in that there are no injuries and also have an extra week for everyone to get healthy and learn the system even more. This can only help the team kcik MTSU's one tooth in.
  6. not to surprised unfortunately, just sad.
  7. With so many displaced and taking refuge in Dallas, Houston, etc... My mother-in-law found that the camps and sites are accepting donations in clothes, toiletries, etc... My wife and I have gathered up and bought coloring books and games for the kids. In Dallas:Samuell Grand and Grauwelyer Rec Centers are sites right now. This on top of any monetary donation we can make. Best wishes everyone in thhis tragedy.
  8. MS even if the storm had made a direct hit on NO or just to the West, would have been crushed still, in a hurricane that NE quadrant is the most dangerous, next to the eye wall due to the storm surge. NO might have been in better shape except they have Lake Ponchitrain bordering them and then had the strong winds blowing in from the North. Imagine if Lake Okeechobee was due North of Miami as a border and a hurricane went past Miami about 50 miles and you would have same effect.
  9. Scary thing is this could have been much worse had Katrina not hit a dry air patch and lost a little force as well as making a jog to the East. The photos coming out of MS and AL look like a bomb went off.
  10. I would hope ULL, McNeese and other Louisiana schools would open their doors. I remember in 98 or 99 at Sam Houston we were prepared to house students from Lamar and UH if a hurricane had hit at the time. Wishes are with everyone down there right now.
  11. Also just heard that the fieldhouse at LSU will be a makeshift Red Cross type center for residents who can not make it back to NO. The game should be cancelled in order to respect the victims.
  12. heard on KRLD that the levee at Lake Ponchitrain has also been breached but no other details. This is not as bad as the new stations were making it but it is very bad and NO could be down for weeks or months, unless they magically get those pumps working overtime. I would now be worried for everyone along the MS coast and Mobile area of AL since the eye will basically be moving over them in the next few hours.
  13. We all need to think of Tulane and our Sun Belt bretheren of UNO. All the news just gets worse and worse now, 2 levees have broken now one on the Lake and one on the River. Mustang be careful moving thru MS and AL since their coast will get a direct hit with the eye.
  14. Just looked at the SHSU site and they made no mention of him, they talked of 3 transfer and KM was not one of them. He would be an excellent fit for them though.
  15. Not sure how they got the SHSU b/c there is not much of a Band group there. It is more of a Teacher's school, with a bunch of rednecks and kids who did not go to UH.
  16. This is really a joke, considering FIU is a little dog, NCAA would probably turn a blind eye to one of their big boys, it has happened before so this is not unusual.
  17. If we are actually a D1 school, why the hell are we playing a Georgetowen like schedule of D2 and D3 patsies. This is a horrible schedule, b/c it will not get the guys ready to actually play D1 talent, especially if they play like they did at the end of last season.
  18. UNT needs to improve every sport. Football and Soccer are the hot sports right, then you have the Track conglomerate, but then a big drop off. B-Ball has been bad the last few years, Golf and Volleyball are up and down, Tennis has consistently finished in the lower 3rd of the conference. If we want a look by other more "prestigious" conferences then we need to start winning Conference Titles in all sports not just Soccer and Football.
  19. worried about the last player mentioned, has the same issues as last year and that does not bode well if it continues as a problem.
  20. pretty sad that it even came to this point, but good news nonetheless
  21. Now will the BOR have the cajones to get rid of the problem and bring in someone that does not talk like a politician, but can actually get the job done. We are already losing Dr. Pohl lets stop the bleeding now. Oh yeah RV and DD do deserve raises and extensions just based on what they have done for UNT athletics the past 4 years.
  22. What does it matter if they see our depth chart and practices, everyone in the nation knows that we will be running PC and JT down their throats for 50 minutes, the other 10 minutes will be the defense, but then a surprise pass.
  23. If we have all veggies and fruits, then the carnivores will be upset b/c they are not being represented
  24. Did any of you guys receive the brochure talking about Family Weekend? The brochure looks awesome and details the events to be held September 16-18th, but do you think UNT could actually have reviewed the document before they sent it out. They are promoting the Tuition giveaway, which is awesome, but the refer to the "2004 Game vs. MTSU" for the giveaway, not the 2005 Game against Tulsa. Also in the schedule of events they reference the 6:05 kickoff for the September 17th game against "Troy" Again nice brochure, but you would think that in mailing this out to 30K + students that might have actually took the time to edit it.
