If Phillips played (has more leadrship ability) UNT 35 ULM 31 but since Meager is starting (will likely play full game unless injured) UNT 10 ULM 52 once we get down by 3 TD's we will lay another egg in front of the UNT faithful.

Meager has had a shot all season and has bungled it up. He really did not beat FIU or MTSU, did nothing in Tulsa, La Tech, Troy, FAU, KSU. Had a decent game against LSU, wow we scored 3 pts. What does DD have against Phillips, was he not watching the comeback last weekend???

Thanks Parcells for keeping your little boys ego in check, so are we even trying to see what we might have in other players? We are 2-7 for crying out loud, place some back-ups so we know what we need to look for in the next recruiting season. This is why we are in this position this year b/c we did not give our back-ups playing time before the Seniors left.

Not sure this is something to really talk about. there unfortunately has been a series of unfortunate events the last week. Lets just read about it in the newpaper if they choose to print it, otherwise let the families deal with the grief.

DD has never been called on anything he says, so I think he keeps the pot stirred since he knows everyone appears to be so frightened to call him on this crap. Of course the above comment can not be any worse then him calling FIU a taleneted Footbal team.

I think a JUCO QB would have picked it up quickly due to game experience of being a field general. I think Meager/Phillips are hampered by the speed of College vs H.S. where a JUCO would be much more prepared, plus we do not run a very complicated offense for the most part.

You might be correct if UNT does a half-ass job selecting coaches like similar to the Helwig era, but I think if/when DD decides to step aside I think we will have a smart search for a name candidate to help with attendance and what not. I would be estatic if we could do something similar to what Ohio did in hiring Solich.

I hate being a bearer of bad news but winning the 4 Conference Titles probably will not mean squat to most bigger schools. His TX ties obviously are great, but honestly I think they will find someone with a much stronger 1-A background, if Bennett and Dickey are on a list why not Blakely from Troy, he has shown he can take an underdog team into hostile stadiums and win. I do agree DD has done great on rebuilding the program, but the test would be if he can do it at the next level. Yes the players might be better,, but do we really feel the players at KSU are 50 points better than the players we have. Better yet is Appalachian State a much stronger team than we are??

maybe DD could the OC job at KSU if the new copach decides to overhaul the staff, apparrently he might make just as much and of course get away from all of us UNT fans who bitch and moan b/c we know absolute squat about coaching football and 6-5 or 5-6 every year is ok.

maybe when our teams start winning OOC games, then I'll remove the tag. Ok is it politically correct now. Hell forget winning OOC game just being competitive. I have no illusions of beating Top 10 teams yet but when we have other non-BCS teams come to our place we must beat them or lose a close dogfight. The 4 championships show us that we are the Kings of the Dregs. We can win our conference but that is it.

Again can you not deny that the Sun Belt has been the wprst conference the last 4 seasons? How is my statement running down the team? Never did I say the team is horrible, just a statement of fact about the conference, but go ahead and spin away.

I think the DD Years will be just fine. The good ole days will be when we have a coach who does not shrivel up into his shell in awe of an opposing schools facility and coach, plus will complement the fans for coming out to support their team.

My post was not directed at you FFR. The FAU losses, USF loss, FIU debacle should be considered inexcusable b/c all 3 teams have been around less than 10 years. Also looking at the salary thread we are 2nd behind MUTS, so that throws out everyone saying we underpay our coaches compared to the conference mates.
