I thought they were fixing to with addition of FAU, maybe I read that they would like to in the near future. I know in Men's Swimming/Diving Sun Belt added S. Illinois recently as an affiliate member.

$$$$$$ I think that answers why we do not have Men's Soccer, Baseball, we dropped Men's Tennis, and no Men's Swimming and Diving

Zimmerman would be a perfect fit for the job, but IMO he is better suited for SHSU which would actually pay for a good coach, and if you read their job description they expect their coach to be visible in the community, which he has been by trying to expand tennis in Denton and its schools. Not sure about the no release clause, may need you to shoot me a PM on it, I think I know what you're talking about but not sure. (If it is what I think it is then it is new, b/c it I can think of 2 players who left not on their own account, one transferred to SFA for Sr. year and the other went home after a year of basic hell and demotions)

Official per DMN: Tennis Coach Resigns
untbowler replied to untbowler's topic in Mean Green Athletics
I am not surprised at the loss of another top freshman, they lost another leading into 2003 season who was playing #1 as a freshman. Hopefully the new coach can retain all players, but the nature of collegiate tennis is a ton of transferring. This year the #1 player in the nation transferred from NW to Miami. TCU got the #7 player in the country after she transferred from USC. So it happens and especially at lower D1 schools like UNT, where you also must tack on bigger schools preying on the top players. -
awesome news congrats and best of luck PC!!!

with the popularity of a business degree I would hope they keep the building as a secondary Business building. -

good job ladies. Looks like they will play either the MUTS or Troy later today. Good luck to them -
And what about Kim Kettleson? ←

Do you know if Shane Zimmerman has applyed for the job or is that just someone you have in mind? ←

In the spring Sara Giles was a solid pick-up for the #6 spot. Not sure what happened with Ina should was the top recruit last year, must have been injured. Lynley looked like a very good pick-up and played well at 1&2. Sammie stepped up nice at the #4 spot and moved upto the 3 spot. Overall though the players and coaches could not get the team over the plateau and beat a Top 75 team or come close. I'll reiterate if RV and company are serious about finding experience Kim Kettleson would be a top pick (Asst. at TJC) or shane Zimmerman (HC @ NCTC), who has 5 years of HC and 1 AC experience. The HC at TX State might be good but she is new to the position. Brenda Neimeyer at UTSA is a fantastic coach but she is firmly committed to UTSA I believe. Just my thoughts.

ok so I do not get banned I'll just say if these are the types of businesses they will place here then I am not a fan of the development.

nice win WKU was the #3 seed and UNT was #6. Good luck to the ladies -
Totally agree unfortunately at $1 million an acre that is an expensive eyesore to try and correct on the Westside of campus.

yeah I was disappointed to see Shankles move on from SHSU. Will be competitive on getting a coach right now b/c UNT, UT-Arlington, and SHSU all have positions right now. I am hoping Shane Zimmerman the NCTC coach applies he would be a great addition and knows the area well with recruits and also has connections in Brazil and Sweden for players. Greenster shoot me a PM sometime, would like to meet you or chat some more off the board.

Where does it say they are bringing in big business??? They will allow the businesses to stay there but obviously they need to pay more rent more than likely. Personally and you can lambast me all day but much of the Fry Street area looks like a dump as you dodge all the empty beer bottles and cigarettes.

sorry but this can only be good for UNT and City of Denton, except for all the status quo non-growth Dentonites

I wish it was a sign, the article on www.gobearkats.com explains his wife took a job in Midland/Odessa area and they were moving.
-
must be something in the water, the SHSU coach also just resigned. He would have been my pick to take over UNT, but no more now.
-
When you went to the matches how much coaching did the Asst do? He has a much better track record of coaching if he was allowed to coach and not just be a ball boy/waterboy during practice.
-
I am not going to get into bashing but 3 Asst Coaches with the same opinions says something. In all honesty I think DP would have been better finding an Asst. Coach position for 1-2 years then maybe seek a HC position but Alan Ward hired her with no searching and threw her into the mix in the middle of the season with no training or experience. Record-wise looks good but player development was a huge disappointment. Yes lines 3-6 were not the best and maybe a lack of gameplan or focus in matches. I had heard of the overtraining from a former walk-on. Hopefully RV will get serious and do a good search for a new coach.

Swimming coach from U.Washington hired
untbowler replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Athletics
hope this works out well for the S/D team they could use some stability in the coaching ranks. Plus PAC 10 and SEC experience should help, if he learned from the experience. -
I removed my comment on that, may or may not happen, is a grapevine type issue. Hoping it does not happen.
