Men's Golf Championship - Live, Up To Date Stats
untbowler replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Athletics
just checked the weather for Muscle Shoals, AL and the wind is blowing 21 mph w/ gust near 30 so very tough conditions this afternoon. -
Awesome for the ladies, they probably get some rest and take care of grades and then prepare for the tournament, they picked the right time to play well. Expect a trip to Waco or Austin for the ladies to start the tournament. Probably see SMU/Rice/A&M or such in the same pool.

Course must be playing tough, guys are already 6 over for the day and have fallen into T3, but still only 5 strokes from lead and 2 strokes out of 2nd. Ortiz is having a rough day as well at +3 after 5 holes, including a triple bogey. -
High Schools should be fine as H.S. tennis is now down to the State Tournament and only one Denton Area player made it to State Tournament.

Looking good right now 2 shots off the lead in a Tie for Third. -
winning Women's Tennis was a huge gain to jump WKU, but now need Softball to finish near the top 3 or so and then have a very strong T&F showing to stay in contention. Baseball would be huge to have but we are what we are right now.
-
Unfortunately not double elimination, but looked at more the pod sites of the Baseball playoffs

They will select 16 sites that will host 4 teams each, think College Baseball. For the most part they keep schools very close. I have a bad feeling we will be playing Baylor first as a #4 seed in the region, since UT-Arlington lost in the Sun Belt Finals, but we might get lucky with a #3 seed and play a fading A&M Team. Will be curious to follow.

Thanks for the update. I was officiating the SCAC Tournament all weekend but was checking my phone constantly waiting for results. Got to officiate a great final today between Trinity and DePauw and then seeing UNT pulled it out made my day even better.

To bad our crack staff has not yet even posted a link even to celebrate this first for the program. Thanks to Sun Belt Sports for the coverage.

Wow that is awesome and what a way to go out in style for Catalina Cruz the lone senior on the team and she clinches the first berth into the NCAA Tournament for the ladies. Also it appears they cam back from a 3-0 deficit to win. Very early but they will probably be in a Baylor Pod or UT Pod for the Tournament. Awesome win for a first time victory over Top 50 Team.

Saying the cupboard was bare is an understatement, the cupboard was demolished and falling apart at the hinges.

The ITA has fairly strict rules in place that say you must play players in order of strength and once line-up is established you can only shift the player 1 spot up or down. A match can be protested if line-ups are stacked. I know for certain ULM has been protested at least twice this year. Syracuse was protested by EMU and their 4-3 win was flipped to a 4-3 loss. Most coaches know the teams they are playing and keep quite the eye on any shenanigans. As for Denver they are down this year with injuries, having to throw in a walk-on at #6. Overall a down year for Sun Belt with Denver and USA much weaker than normal.

MUTS defeat UALR 4-0 The ladies will be playing MTSU Friday Morning, should be quick and efficient for the ladies as they then prepare for winner of Denver/ULL
-
hmmm, forgot that part, regardless hopefully the JUCO's she has brought in can get UNT back into some consistency and respectability. I would think the team is now completely Stephens or are there still a couple of leftovers. Seems like she has brought in upwards of 20 players since being hired.
-
Wonder if Coach Stephens is in a win now mode after the last 2 seasons and running off players left and right.

Tennis Team got the #2 Seed behind FIU and ahead of #3 Denver and #4 Troy. They will play the winner of MTSU/UALR, which will be a close match, but UNT hammered MTSU about a week ago in Murfreesboro and UALR is a good team but lacks in area, after having officiated several of their matches over the previous 3 years. UALR has a very good #1 who is a freshman and has depth but should not pose an issues if they can beat MTSU. SunBeltSports Central Interesting on the seeds, ULM should be the #7, not #5, having lost to MTSU and barely beat UALR and Arkansas State. The UALR was protested as well. ULL should be #5 and MTSU #6. USA is seeded low but they have had a short-handed team all year. WKU is just a joke. Sad to see UNO so low as they had some very good team earlier in the 2000's.
-
The tennis team took care of business this past weekend and should be the #2 seed in the Conference Tournament next weekend, behind #1 FIU. The tournament is down in New Orleans. After #1-2 there is no telling who will be #3, probably Denver although Troy could make a push for it as well. IMO anything less than an appearance in the finals would probably be a disappointment.

Serious question how does Kentucky's APR not taking a huge hit with 5 underclassmen leaving? With two more Top Recruits in 10-11 who will be one and done how do they survive yet we got docked a scholarship
-
Nice we now have No Fun League Light, what a bunch of political babies. Do they actually even think about the ramifications of some of the rules. Get ready for plenty of home cooking especially on the taunting penalties.
-
congrats she is beautiful. Hope family is all doing well.
-
Well crap missed that one singles win, will be curious to see how quickly the team's early signee will get acclimated in the fall. Only losing one player to graduation so 7 of Top 8 should return barring attrition. As for this year, outside of FIU the Belt is weak this year nationally, usually three team are ranked. Denver has injuries, USA has issues with fielding a full team, and UNT has not been able to get a breakout win on the national level. Conference should be interesting with UNT getting the #2 seed, assuming they take care of business this weekend against MTSU and Troy, and getting a rematch with Denver in the SF.

Who's Your Qb Coming Out Of Spring?
untbowler replied to UNT Mean Green's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes sir, traveling with a toddler more than 1-2 hrs can turn into a National Lampoon's Movie. -
unfortunately the team laid an egg once again when facing a Top 50 team. They lost 7-0 to FL, 7-0 to GTech, 7-0 to Tulsa, 5-2 to FIU, and now 6-1 to Rice today at home.
-
TCU is a perennial top 30 team that is down right now, although they have also played a rough schedule. They also have severa 4-3 losses and a 4-3 win over UT. UNT does not have that luxury yet and the 7-0 whipping by Tulsa few weeks back does not help.
