I think some schools pick their sports to focus on. WKU is King of the Hill in the T&F/CC, while they absolutely suck when it comes to Tennis (M & W) and many other sports. UNT has become good at many sports but not conference championship in any one outside of maybe Basketball and Soccer. If we are not giving out full scholarship amounts then shame on Rick V. and staff for not putting out more opportunities to further Title IX, which I believe is a cop-out considering the initial Athletics Fee was put in place (Circa 2002 or so) for Title IX purposes. Hell add Women's Bowling for 6-8 more women's players (if SFA and SHSU can do it financially), the tennis team carries 10 players (2 walk-ons). The results in most sports show that UNT should put the conference realignment talks aside until we can contend for the Bubas Cup every year, not finish 3rd 20-30 pts behind WKU & MTSU, and start winning conference championships or finish Top 3 in every sport we fund.

Womens Tennis Bracket Must say surprised at the draw and how they laid out the teams. Last few years they kept teams regionally but this year they scattered. Also noted UNT, A&M, Rice, & TCU were all in the same seed range, SMU was one notch up, but have to go to Stanford. Texas was a #16 but got sent to Norman.

Very interesting to see NW State fall into this Region, that seems to mean Rice/TCU/UT/A&M are in the other Texas Regional. This is a great match-up for the ladies and hope they learned something from the thrashing Tulsa gave them a few months ago. Awesome to see a #3 seed even, which equates to roughly a 9-12 seeding over all in NCAA Tournament terms.

I am going to be very curious to watch where we go as TCU pulled off a major upset and won the MWC as a low seed to get into the tournament, this shifts rankings around somewhat. Also where the committee places Southern and NW State will play a role. Baylor should be getting the Women's Regional, while UT might sneak one out also falling a second place Big 12 finish. No matter where we go the team will be ready having already played 2 Top 10 teams in Florida and Ga Tech.
