  1. Interesting that they are even on the bench but at the same time I hope it is eating them alive seeing what their lack of attention has done to their friends and teammates. Good life lesson being taught early on at least.
  2. prayers to the young man's family and the LTU family.
  3. The academic staff is there for a reason, also JJ and Coaches should have been doing grade checks, there are what 13-15 players on the team, not 105 like in football so an easy quick check of grades should have brought attention to issues. I am assuming the guys were maybe doing some Wintermester courses to try and stay eligible. I will agree it is on the student-athletes to complete work but the academic support staff and coaches could have easily sat them down and "try to" get them on track.
  4. I am glad RV addressed and yes it is on the two players in the end, but at the same time, were there no progress reports to show this situation coming to a head or was it a bombing of a project or final, which would suck but could be understandable. Hope reality check to these kids is apparent and their parents, teammates, and coaches make sure they know how disappointed they are.
  5. interesting SMU must be hard up on some OL, good job to the staff holding onto the recruits and adding some last minute fill-ins
  6. Thanks saw the photo was over 2 hrs old but no update had been posted, thanks for update.
  7. should we worry that there is no word on Boone Feldt yet?
  8. Shhhh!!! That's blasphemy on this board.
  9. not surprising Walling I sure lives in the LHHS area that more closely resembles SMU than UNT anyways good luck to him in the pink and blue and to him having at least 2-3 coaches in his 5 years
  10. It was good to see the ladies came back strong and put a beating on Oral Roberts, also saw Irina played singles.
  11. No I'll just save that for your savior JJ. SFA's coach is in second year and has already completely turned the team around. Pretty impressive. He was an assistant at UA-Fayetteville so has good connections and SFA has a pretty new large facility, so good recruiting.
  12. SFA is going to be good this year, but with the experience the team has this result I hope is due to overconfidence and early season match. Makes next weekend's matches look even tougher now.
  13. SFA shuts out UNT No words to describe this result except wow. That is a beat down by SFA, not a good result nor a result to be at all happy about.
  14. If I lived closer I would but have some officiating this weekend, but will be chairing a match or two when the ladies come to Fayetteville, a week from Saturday vs. Kansas State. I then see SFA the next weekend when they play a double header against UCA and UALR. Then I'll see Oral Roberts first weekend of March when they play UCA. Would love some reports if fans are able to make it out.
  15. SFA should not be taken lightly, they have a 2nd Year coach who has brought in some solid players. Should be a 6-1 or 5-2 match but will be tough one for the ladies. Watch for the SFA #1-2 players who are pretty stout. They beat Louisville 5-2 this past weekend SFA beats UL Their #2 team also beat the #27 Nationally ranked team from Illinois in Florida 2 weeks back. SFA/ILL Match Oral Roberts should be a an easier match but the ladies could be tired from the early match turn around. They have won a individual match this year following losses to sweeps to Tulsa and Wichita State and a 6-1 loss to Okie State
  16. woohoo way to whine as well and not support a new coach who has been doing very good things this year. Boo Hooo!!!
  17. The 3 Academies to me are all off limits to criticizing a kid passing us to go play and serve our country
  18. So you would choose live amongst the 1/3 of the population that stayed behind to gang bang for a living? I personally would choose Denton over New Orleans but then again I am not overly fond of Bourbon Street, but the 4 Bowl games were fun, so 1-2 nights during bowl season would be all I need then let the locals go back to gang banging and shooting up funerals. Good luck to the young, personally I also enjoyed being 13 hrs from home my freshman year.
  19. Wish we could say that about our local beat reporter as well.
  20. oh well let him stay in that hell hole called New Orleans, 364 days out of the year. We will be just fine, besides Vito acts like jumping to a weak CUSA school was so good. Good luck Lefrance living at home with your parents.
  21. Funny considering Pelosi in SF Transit extension of 1.5 miles would generate 45K in jobs yet a 1000 mile long pipeline would not even create 2K. Love how politics somehow always replaces common sense
  22. can't be to excited if he is looking elsewhere.
  23. Stop making excuses, look at the tennis team and other minor sports who travel and are gone much more than Basketball and do not get to travel as plush as Basketball with their flights and buses. These other athletes seem to do just fine as freshmen and all somehow maintain 3.0+ GPA's as a whole team.
  24. Well to be honest in your eyes it is all the students fault while defending the administration to the hilt, so I guess everyone just needs to find common ground.
