LaSalle Coach - John Giannini (Link to UNT)
untbowler replied to UNTDude's topic in Mean Green Basketball
wow another UNT Alum that got away -
right there picking that cheap piece of crap shiny toy called New Mexico only to see it break after 10 minutes of play. Had them in FF
-
Just par for the course in most of the recent hires overlook the obvious choice to go with the comfortable choice.
-
And the ladies fall all the way out of the rankings. WTF!!! You lose to teams higher than you and yet fall out? The ladies need another good win otherwise they will probably be playing a Top 16 school first round. Look at Ole Miss they have now lost 4 straight and only dropped 4 spots, granted they lost 4-3 to #8 and also lost to #12
-
New rankings tomorrow, probably see the ladies fall a few spots, but not to bad. Probably stay around 55 or so, nice win over Wichita State.
-
in some ways outside the Top 16 it does not matter, but it does matter as they select the teams and their pods and place them #1-4, so being in the 40's would be a huge boost, last year the ladies got a #3 seed, but drew the toughest #2 seed in Nebraska.

Damn right in my backyard and I'll be in Oxford calling Ole MissUGA match

Most successful basketball coach in Texas deserves a shot

We should have given our alum a chance this year -
The team snuck by Miami, OH. I hope it was just a letdown after the Ga Tech match. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=206582463 Big matches coming up with Tulsa and Wichita St. Tulsa will be a tough nut to crack, they are not great but very deep and will keep you on the court and they just demolished USA 7-0, Wichita State is down some this year so that is a must win to keep ranking in the 40's. Sneak opponent will be ULM on 3/16 probably battle for #1 seed for Belt Tournament.
-
Ga Tech showing they are much better than their ranking, they did just lose to #5 GA 4-3. Smack down at #1 and #3 8-0 Already cruising in a couple of singles matches. http://www.ramblinwreck.com/livestats/w-tennis/xlive.htm?DB_OEM_ID=1800 *** GaTech's #2, 3, 4 are Freshmen and handing it to our 3 SR's All 3 are American Blue Chip Recruits

couple of close matches with #6 in the 3rd set. Not a bad showing for the ladies and they won the doubles point. Should give them confidence with Ga Tech coming up ** I think what is missing for the ladies to push them into the Top 30-40 teams is a super #1 and #2 players. The team has the depth for sure to compete, but gets exposed at the top by teams with ranked players in the Top 3, similar to yesterday, I look at a team like Rice, their #1 last year got hot at CUSA Tournament and then extended it into NCAA Tournament, beat an All-American (Ole Miss) to help the team make Final 16. If Lama could land that 5* recruit or Top ITF Level player the team would break the Top 40 ceiling. Regardless well done to the ladies and they have a bright future as long as future recruits can break in the line-up as freshmen, only disappointment this year is that all 4 FR are lower end, would have been nice to see 2 of them playing Top 4, but that is also a good thing that your upperclassmen are improving.

http://www.itatennis.com/AwardsAndRankings/Rankings/2012-13_ITA_NCAA_Division_I_Women_s_Rankings/Women_s_Division_I_National_Team_Rankings_-_Feb__26.htm Ladies move up to #47 in the nation, big match with now #20 TCU. Arizona fell to #57
-
The leaving dates seem to change, guess I thought Tulsa had made the move but never happened. Tulsa will be tough as well, they have owned CUSA recently and Rice is close behind. UTEP also has also put together a good team this year. I would put UNT around #3 in the conference right now behind the aforementioned. Marshall and others would be right behind.
-
Coach Lama has done a phenomenal job, will be curious to see the team adjust to CUSA, although most of the top teams are leaving Tulane, Tulsa, UH, and Memphis leaving Rice as the Top Dog for next year
-
If Lama wants to move the ladies up in rankings they need to split these matches at the least. This will help them come NCAAeeding time and possibly shift them into a 3 seed and allow them to stay away from a Top 16 team first round, granted they got a bum draw last year as a 3 seed drawing #17 Nebraska. These matches and the upcoming ranked matches such as #24 GA Tech, #52 Columbia, #65 Wichita State, #33 Tulsa, and #58 GA State matches are huge matches for ranking and seeding. Sleeper matches to watch out for are ULM and Louisville

Benford's Post Game Interview 2-7-13
untbowler replied to realitycheck's topic in Mean Green Basketball
probably because if you buy him out , your also going to be forced to buy out RV's contract as well. -
Well if so then any administrators associated with the hire need to be fired or resign as well. Too many boondoggle hires over the last 4-5 years
-
funny because if this was regarding football everyone would be fine with it. I am not saying Benford is the man, which right now it is not good, but double standards are fun.

I know a few officers on the board and want to say thank you for your service and putting your lives on the line. My local city lost a young officer Friday, from injuries suffered while doing traffic control for an accident. I am not in PD but as a city employee considered him a co-worker, as I assist PD and FD in my daily work schedule on a regular basis. Very sad for all parties involved but especially for the family and PD. Met the young man a few times briefly whenever he ventured to city hall. http://thecabin.net/news/local/2013-02-01/cpd-officer-struck-motorist-dies-injuries#.UQ32kGewU2Y http://thecabin.net/news/local/2013-01-31/cpd-officer-struck-vehicle#.UQ33PGewU2Y Thanks again for all of your PD and FD.

2012 still had mainly Dodge's personnel footprint
untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Why everyone has said Dodge had no players and the cupboards were bare so why would not the savior DMac be able to have his own superstar recruits play over such horrible players recruited by Dodge. Come on if Dodge was so bad it makes no sense.
