untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Let's hope Memphis does not steal Meachem, but plus is he seems to want to stay in the metroplex- 7 replies

no thanks when we are ready to pay an extreme amount for a coach. He would be a Good Assistant, but not Head Coach right now edited since misread article, but 16 yrs at same school is admirable, but no thanks
-
Wow so he basically admitted that he has no clue what the hell is going on with his team. Guess RV is gearing up to blame Harris for this 0-3 start.

DRC Monday column: UNT seniors deserve support in final game
untbowler replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Well if the Seniors need the fans support then the fans need the players to not pack it in and quit like they have several games when the going got tough, with the worst offense obviously the homecoming debacle- 11 replies

which is why we need serious looks at FCS Coaches with a history of winning at varying levels
-
good god where they not watching 80% of the last 5 yrs, I would be shocked if DMac ever coached again
-
screw LSU, they are willing to burn their program just because Miles does not win a National Title every year. Also they currently have #1 recruiting class, Miles goes, so goes their recruits

put money on UTEP, easy money after what this team has shown the last 3 weeks. 20 freakin points of offensive awfulness

Scott Shafer fired as Syracuse football head coach
untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Syracuse demise is one of the reasons I hate the Longhorns, freakin Greg Robinson destroyed their program from what Coach P had done after Coach McPherson -
I could be on board with Grass or even the previous caoch Clark, who is at UAB right now
-
Well if a coach has shown to win consistent at JUCO, then D2/3, then FCS then I would consider that a proven winner, too simplistic but makes since
-
Easy Answer: A PROVEN WINNER
-
Probably not wanted by anyone but RV, just like DMac nobody was beating his door down except RV. God this hire could get ugly.

I hope this keeps Thomsen in the mix if he is interested, comes down to him, Riley, or Briles, I would take Thomsen since he has coached and won at a non-P5 and is not coaching with a silver spoon mentality. Not sure Briles or Riley would be able to accept that they are not at a P5 with all of their advantages. As for potentially throwing out coaches from lower divisions, if they are proven winners why would you not want them to apply and coach, they are proven winners.
-
Why would the school take a young non-HC from a P5 who has been spoiled his whole career versus someone who has many years of HC experience at varying levels and has shown ability to win at every level not just JUCO, not just D2, etc.. I would prefer a proven winner over a spoiled P5 flash in the fan, who fails when reality hits that they do not have the same amenities of a P5

the classes in AR are just plain dumb 7 classes, the 7A only has 16 teams and 12 make the playoffs, 6A only has 20-24 and again 12 make the playoffs.

ESPN and SEC network make UNT the joke of college football
untbowler replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
as much as I want to disagree and tell you to go pound sand, your truth just burns and hurts -
Watch the UNT NCAA game 7PM Live on Texas Tech's site
untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Athletics
sounds like UNT Athletics as a whole, just fine to dominate conference, but not built to win anything on the big stage of a tournament we saw it with JJ and DD bith, they could win conference but would falter on tournament stage -
poor little protected snow flakes must have gotten their little feelings hurt and mommy was not there to pop her tit back in their mouth. Good grief just ignore the guy and he goes away, maybe they should start teaching the Constitution again, 1st Amendment and what not.

I would be fine with him as he has won at smaller places. I also would not mind the James Madison Coach, Ga Southern, Arkansas St, or Jacksonville State coaches as they have shown they can win at remote destinations with out the amenities, of course everyone one of them have much better fan, school, and alumni supported programs, so UNT might be lateral move outside of the money.

The fan effect of late season paycheck games in a bad season
untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
which it has to now since we have a lazy AD and staff who do not get out and raise the money he promised 15 yrs ago. -
November 2010 to present; what has really changed?
untbowler replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
What has changed?? -- Some of the fan base is actually now very angry and ready for change
