Littrell And The Mean Green Ink Three Players
untbowler replied to MeanGreenDan's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
At least both will have chance to go thru spring ball under Littrell and Ozougwu was already on campus in the Fall, so they should be able to pick it up better, but still gambles now. -
seems like the players would be to scared to quit next year under these guys, unlike this year with Cosh and DMac

Canales and Co. Missed a kid 15 miles away
untbowler replied to GMG24's topic in Mean Green Football

Question for older alumni and lifelong fans
untbowler replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
plenty of other things barely last 13 seconds as well much less 20 min, good grief -
Well the team also quit in general, how can Litrell and staff change the culture of quitting in 9 months, will be the big thing. A more open offense will be nice to see utilizing the talent. Now the defense scares the hell out of me, as DMac was supposed to be a defensive coach, but has nothing, granted the DC in 2015 sucked big fat donkey balls, so there is no honest assessment of the defense other than they quit and laid over when the going got tough.

Cross should tell UNT to go pound sand, we could have gotten him back in 2012, but RV had to have his guy, just like Shanice, just like Peterson. At least we did not pay Marquette to take Benford off their hands unlike Peterson at WFU.

Time will tell who made better hire. I think Littrell will be just fine, but Fritz would have been my pick from the start.

Shocked Stoops would allow him to transfer in conference

MGB: Fire RV banner flown by UNT fans get ESPN.com mention
untbowler replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
This is not just RV to be honest, his staff has been horrible about correcting facts of UNT, but the UNT administration as a whole has been a joke, this is more thanks Lee "SMU" Jackson and the 50% non-UNT Alum BOR. -
I have never understood the scheduling rationale of mid day games in September and early October and late evening games in late October and November, in my opinion should be just the opposite. Start at 7 PM during September into October and play at 11 or noon as you get into the dregs of fall where it is chilly in the evening. I am already liking the blue collar attitude, keep out of the spot light and get to work. No rings to show off and no talking of past glory. Hope the community and the Area HS get visited and Littrell becomes a big name for the area and if he gets snagged away in 2-4 yrs even more that the right hire was made.
-
I might disagree, if Coach Littrell gets out into the community and speaks with many in the area, maybe UNT can drag more non-fans into the stands, there seems to be good buzz with Littrell and he is not some old retread like DMac who has to flash his past glory in front of everybody. Community, Community, Community, oh yeah and make the damn AD work on marketing for once, not a last second crap promo

A look back at the UNT 2015 HS signing class
untbowler replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Was he not suspended or kept home at least 1 game or more as well? -
Damn getting old, I just remember it was chaotic and hated the way Dr Pohl and staff handled the firing, knew it had to be done, but the way they handled it was very poor taste
-
I was there in Spring 2001 when RV was hired before basketball season ended, Alan Ward was the interim AD at the time and he hired the new tennis coach early in 2001, RV fired Trilli immediately after the season ended and the day after Trilli attended his players funeral. Yes Pohl may have said do it, but it was RV that did the firing and then hired JJ. I also sat in meeting with Coach Traxler and Gene Stallings on the poor nature of the on campus tennis facilities, granted Stallings was clueless on what a tennis court should look like, yes cracks are a bad thing. So I give RV credit for getting the new tennis facility built at least.

1. 2016 Season compete and shoot for 6-6, roster has talent but underutilized 2. 2017 and on just consistently win and compete for Division and Conference Title 3. Bring excitement and no excuses, fans are tired of excuses 4. Get out into the community for fans, get into the schools and show your face as the HC
-
but what about same Collegiate year? USC example was one in 2012-13 season and FB in 2013-14 season UNT looking at same Collegiate Year, remember RV nearly did Calendar year in 2001, fired Trilli and finger on the button for DD until he went on miracle Belt run
-
Their Tennis Team Sucks and did not even have a Full-time Coach, before leaving the Belt, but they have solid teams in every other sport
-
Don't forget RV paid WFU to bring the loser Peterson here I can not figure WBB out yet, they have 2 big wins to go with weird losses, no consistency from game to game
-
his winning at FCS level and transitional FBS were not good enough to meet our school's lofty standards for the next coach, besides I think he told us to piss off anyways
-
I think UNT should be on the phone with McNeil right now offering him the HC position, since we have nothing on Littrell right now other than speculation
-
imagine ECU goes after Schiano or Barbers now
-
Good catch, thanks
-
and yet here we still wait for our hire
-
yup, in 15 yrs, we have had one major sports coach hired away and that was JJ to LSU. Sad, sad, sad. UNT actually pays schools to take their garbage coaches *see Peterson*
