Mad, I agree with you. It would be nice to have an NT alum, but sometimes we need some outside blood. I think it is possible for someone to be a wonderful steward of our university and not be a graduate. I don’t like the “but we have always done it that way” mentality. The guy has come from a large, successful university. It will be a harder sell at UNT, but maybe he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve. As far as padding the resume goes, doesn’t everyone in just about every type of business do that? I work for a great place, but I’m not sure I will retire here. However, I am the organizations biggest fan and will promote it always while I am here.

This is my first year in the MGC. The past few years I have bought an extra season ticket to use to bring friends. Will continue that practice. Hopefully in the future I can afford to buy two extra tickets. Looking forward to sitting in Sec. E with the other troublemakers.

Every Internet forum has its share of bitching. We are not the worst. We just came off a 2-9 season (very close to 0-11) with a coach that has never been overly popular with the fans. It's the off season. Spring ball is over. What else is there to do?

I agree this board can be way to negative at times, but very few on this board are fair weather fans. Every program has fair weather fans. What you have to build is the base of fans that will show up when a bad season comes around. Very few in this group will stop coming when the chips are down. Let's face it. DD is kind of an a-hole. At least he comes across that way to me. Maybe the players love him. I don't know. I don't pony up hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for the university so they don't really pay much attention to my opinion. Fair enough. I try not to whine too much, but it can be frustrating. DD admitted to poor coaching last year. I'll give him that. This should be a decision making year for the AD. DD has had some success, but he has also had some monster failures. His failures out weigh the good things right now.

All star teams suck. Any one of the MLB teams as a whole team would have cleaned up. Same with basketball. Any one of our NBA teams would kill the rest of the world. We have to put together these all star teams and they don't work. All professional athletes in the major sports are over paid. Baseball just looks worse because there is very little running involved and they seem to miss weeks on end because of strange injuries. Oh well. It was very embarrassing to lose to Canada.

You would think that if you where going to cheat, you would at least be good. If you are going to suck, just don't cheat.

I'm not talking about brushes with the law. I don't see our kids with BMWs or things like that, but to think there hasn't ever been any minor improprieties is naive. I’m not saying it to put down our school only that we live in a glass house. My only knowledge on the subjec comes from knowing players when I was in school. Different regime then too.
